3 out of 5 eggsOK TV tuner

Pros: Gives TV signal
Not much else to describe about it

Cons: Software is a bit ugly to use
I get a LOT of static. It could be my signal source or it could be the tuner I am not sure. Will try to update at some point if I can ever check it.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't this device....

Pros: Worked ok, with regular Windows XP, for regular TV channels, using included software.
Didn't take much space in the trash can.

Cons: NOTE: does not support HDTV signals from cable TV!!!!
Only supports HDTV from antenna...
Could not get it to work natively with Windows XP Media Center Edition....included MCE software encoder kept crashing (would not even run).
KWorld has very poor product support...

Other Thoughts: Wasted $65 at a large electronics store buying this product, if you're in the market for a HDTV tuner device, buy one of the main stream brands and make sure it supports "QAM" if you're going to use it with a cable provider. Should have bought it from Newegg, could have read reviews of it before buying it....

1 out of 5 eggsXP: 1; Vista: 0

Pros: Great in XP. I used this product for over a year and I loved it. Works with packaged software.

Cons: Horrible Vista Support. Absolutely horrendous. I've been at it almost a week trying to get this to work. I used the CD that came with it, the software downloaded from the manufacturer's own site (listed on M$'s own website as a Vista compatible driver) and third party apps (ie. GBPVR). I also submitted an email requesting assistance for this "Vista compatible product" and have heard nothing from the manufacturer.

It should also be noted that upon perusing the poorly written documentation and info files for the manufacturer drivers (Vista x86), while I found mention of other KWorld products, I did not find mention of this one.

Other Thoughts: If you are more familiar than myself with something like GBPVR or are using XP, this product works great when it runs. If you are not that fortunate and posses Vista but lack the skills to run around in circles on your computer, I would suggest going for something from Hauppauge. I hear very good things about them but lack the extra $100 to spend on a product I supposedly already bought.

Also the fact that a product's driver does not come with clearly written documentation and doesn't even mention the product in what is there just baffles me.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's alright for S-Video and Composite

Pros: Well I use the TV tuner card for mainly my XBOX 360 and other systems as well. It does its job of producing somewhat good quality video. It doesn't lag, it came with a good digital antenna. The audio quality is pretty good.

Cons: Video quality on cable is choppy at best, actually the video quality in general is meh at best, especially at full screen. The cable tends to be fuzzy on most channels. The video for S-Video and Composite is kinda choppy but oh well. And with TotalMedia I get a severe amount of pixel bleeding on the sides, but I guess that comes with the territory.

Other Thoughts: I use this tuner mainly in a university surrounded by a forest, literally. Which isn't the best for clear digital reception. I bought this with the intention that it was good for clear video when not using cable, I guess I was (kind of) wrong.

I'm really thinking about selling this straight up along with the other bust of a TV tuner I got.

4 out of 5 eggsUPDATE to previous review

Pros: Works great most of the time as long as you use Windows Vista software and not the software that came with this tuner.

Cons: Tuner card is bulky plugged into the back of your computer and puts a lot of strain on your USB port. Just the shear weight of it causes it sometimes to lose the connection of the tuner card and has to rebooted and reset into the USB port to pick up live TV channels again. Note to Manufacture; a new design of the tuner card with a USB extension would fix this problem and get 5 star reveiw from me.

Other Thoughts: In January I did a review and rated this item only 2 stars. I found out that when using Windows Media Center instead of Total Media 3 (software that came with tuner) that this digital tuner works much better.

4 out of 5 eggsWORKS GREAT

Pros: THIS ITEM WORKS FINE, CONSIDER THAT I'M USING IT IN MY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM, AND I HAVE NOT SHUTDOWN THAT COMPUTER FOR ABOUT A MONTH, THE TV TUNER IS WORKING FINE WITH THE PROVIDED SOFTWARE AFTER MORE THAN A MONTH OF CONTINUOS USE, IF YOU PLAN ON USING THIS ITEM TO WATCH TV I'M SURE IT WILL LAST FOR A LONG TIME

Cons: IMAGE QUALITY IS NOT THE BEST, LOOKS LIKE AN 800X600 RESOLUTION IF NOT LESS, NO DIGITAL TUNER (WON'T RECEIVE OVER THE AIR TRANSMISSIONS AFTER FEB 2009, MOST PEOPLE HAVE CABLE OR SATELLITE ANYWAYS SO IT'S NOT A BIG CONCERN

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: OK reception with included anttena, Works well with my laptop(which is not very powerfull) Small and light easy to setup. HD channels look good. Picked up 17 I am in the middle of a metropolitan area.

Cons: As other reviewers have said you need a small usb extention for sure. Does get a little hot when using for extended periods. Now that I have cable again don't need over the air HD.

Other Thoughts: This device picked up Comcast digital cable with no problem.

5 out of 5 eggsworks fine

Pros: works great even with tiny antenna. you must of course be somewhere that you can get a signal. doesnt drop frames or freeze up. no vista issues, installed fine on 2 different vista boxes on the first try. included software is actually good and easy to use but no frills. totally worth this price if you dont live inside a steel cage or a tunnel or something.

Cons: recording works well, but file sizes are huge. recorded for 1 minute and it gave me a 120mb .mpg. 7gb/hour? seems big to me. it was so cheap that it doesn't really matter though.

Other Thoughts: -dell opti 755 2.4ghz core 2 quad 4gb ram vista ultimate ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT - works fine.
-thinkpad z60t 1.7ghz PM 2gb ram vista business and totally crummy intel 915gm graphics chip - works fine but cpu sits at about 95% while running it.
