Pros: Lovely cables.

Cons: I received the product with everything in it, but the tuner itself. I was going to contact KWORLD, but to get their contact info you need to register on their site, in which to do so you need a serial number. There was no serial number on the box, and without the tuner I have no serial number. There was a number on the box to call, but it is a number in Taiwan, not a 1-800 number. Awesome.

Other Thoughts: Waiting for an RMA. If I do not recieve the product in its entirety, I am going to order one from a different company. KWORLD HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

4 out of 5 eggsits grrrreat

Pros: I use this to turn my 32" 1080p LG monitor into a tv/games device. (also looks great on my ViewSonic E771 CRT screen)

I play a lot of Granturismo 4 over component (ps2) and if there was any lag I would see it in my lap times. (which have gone down due to increased visibility!)

Also: Device up-scales Sega GENESIS (240i) with NO lag.

Ive taken to carrying this to friends' houses for the sole purpose of playing games lagless on their otherwise laggy up-scaling HD panels (this has made me slightly more popular).

Color and image sharpness on Wii and most PS2 games is crystal clear.

SD TV reception is as watchable as it is on an HD set. People who say otherwise are either too used to HD television or have their monitor contrast, saturation and brightness configured strangely to respond to improperly tweaked graphics card settings.

the internal speaker is garbage but really handy for checking if you have a TV signal.

Cons: Scan line issues (I actually kinda like it) on the 240i signal coming out of the Sega GENESIS (and a friend's Japanese Famicom). But there is no lag or frame rate drop.

Some PS2 games (dark cloud 2) look rather green with the saturation up and there is no way to adjust colors in component mode. This may be my unit or my PS2 so beware.

remote control must be pointing straight at device, preferably from a downward angle.

Other Thoughts: BOTTOM LINE: Cheap, portable, some PS2 HD color issues, can up-scale nearly anything with no lag.

Make sure your monitor has a neutral-realistic color/contrast/saturation settings or SD TV will look super gross.

3 out of 5 eggsOKAY, good for the price.

Pros: This tvbox is overall a decent peice of equipment for only being appx 60 USD with shipping. The PIP options are really helpful, and there is little to no audio buzz that I have experienced with other tuners.

Cons: The picture ranges from Good, to less that watchable, luckily, less than watchable channels are usually channels I don't watch anyway, but if being used elsewhere it could end up being one of someones favorite channels, which would be annoying to say the least.

Other Thoughts: Overall I would definitely make the purchase again, but my expectations were never extremely high to begin with, you DEFINITELY get what you pay for with tv tuners!

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while

Pros: I had this in my bedroom and used my monitor to watch tv instead of buying another TV

Cons: Picture wasnt all that great , I had used about 5months. I put it in the box it came in and stored with my spare pc parts in cool dry place. Lent it to my sister about a month before the 1yr warranty was up and the sound no longer worked..

Other Thoughts: I contacted the company and didnt have any luck. I used this less than a year. I was hoping to keep it around a while longer

4 out of 5 eggswho designed the remote?

Pros: It does what it says...picks up cable channels and displays them on my old monitor. I really can't tell any difference between the different resolutions, except for the size of the onscreen menus (smaller at higher resolutions). It has a sleep-timer function which is great, and you can also set a timer for it to automatically turn on, like an alarm clock.

Cons: Every other remote I've ever seen in my life has the number buttons arranged as 123/456/789/0. THIS remote has buttons like 1234/5678/90. (ie, the 5 is underneath the 1, the 9 is underneath the 5)...take a good look at the product picture! (It looks like other Kworld remotes have the buttons arranged in the normal way; I have no idea why the made an exception for this and a couple other models) Also, if you want to use this in conjunction with your computer and do PIP, it seems you can't adjust the aspect ratio for the PIP. Also the PIP wouldn't work with my computer resolution set at 1680x1050; I had to drop it to 1440x900. (My monitor is 1920x1200, so I just hooked it up for a quick experiment...I never really intended to use it with my computer.)

Other Thoughts: I wonder if this thing works with a universal remote.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome External Tuner

Pros: Great box. Can pick up all channels from 2 through 132. Only get 2 - 98, but its kewl. Also, can replace channels and delete unwanted channels.

Cons: It doesn't do HDTV. I know, its not for HD.

Other Thoughts: Its next generation version supporting HD, does not have the advantages of this box.

4 out of 5 eggsUnintentionally excellent with component switch

Pros: I have a Gamecube, Playstation 2, and XBOX plugged into a Philips 3 port component switch. Unfortunately the Gamecube doesn't have component output. The SA220 has a generic video input port with multiple cable adapters. It turns out that composite video and component Y (green) share the same pins. As such it's possible to plug the yellow RCA (composite video) into the Y (green) port on the switch and play the Gamecube on the AV input of the SA220 and the XBOX/PS2 on the component input. In other words, composite and component devices can be shared on a simple inexpensive component switch by changing which input the SA220 is using.

Cons: The computer picture in picture pass-through function only has a few limited resolutions, none of which I normally use. To view the computer I always have to turn the SA220 off. The VGA passthrough has faint signal ghosting which sensitive eyes may detect.

Other Thoughts: I wish I'd bought this sooner. This works so much better than a computer TV tuner card. The video quality and options are better at a fraction of the cost of a high end TV tuner card and I don't have to turn the computer on to play consoles on my LCD monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsServing it'd purpose patially....

Pros: I basically bought this because 1. I have no TV and 2. the cable I receive in my room is through coaxial only without at cable box. I also have my xbox 360, archos 605 wifi and ps2 hooked up to it (through a pelcian system selector) being that this unit only has 1 component input connection. I have this device connected to a Gateway 19" widescreen HD LCD monitor. The xbox looks pretty good through a component connection and so does my archos and PS2.

Cons: The coaxial connection is loose and coming off. When watching tv through coaxial there are ugly lines poor quality even if you have cable. The built in speaker sound isn't good, you have to connect external speakers to get good sound. It doesn't seem sturdy because all of the wires you connect to it are heavier than it is so you are forced to lay it down. Remote buttons are def not normal and the vga input from pc does not work!

Other Thoughts: I am investing in 300 bucks into a lcd tv to avoid the need for a external tuner!!

1 out of 5 eggsBarely compatible with an LCD Monitor

Pros: The tuner works somewhat well with a CRT monitor.

Cons: The picture quality is absolutely terrible with any LCD monitor. It's so bad that any text on the screen is unreadable. This goes for coaxial connections and the S-video connection for playing console video games.
