5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Bad reviews due to incompetence

Pros: Great picture, USB interface if you have a SFF HTPC with no available PCI or PCIe slots for a regular tuner card, video capture capability, works great with Windows Media Center (using on Vista HP 64 bit).

Cons: There are no cons if you set your expectations accordingly and don't expect the device to solve your PC issues or your inability to install it correctly. Most software packaged with PC products is cr@p. Install the drivers, don't install the software, use Windows Media Center and you will be happy.

Other Thoughts: I recommend getting a decent quality HDTV antenna, otherwise OTA HD transmissions with a weak signal will be choppy or may pixelate. This is not the devices fault; check and make sure your system isn't experiencing a bottle neck. If it is, fix it. If not, it's probably weak signal that can be fixed by antennas like those seen at m0n0price.

1 out of 5 eggsBelongs to times before Win7

Pros: Looks ok had good reviews

Cons: No official Win7 support. Vista drivers do not really work with Win7/7MC. Drivers on web site don't work, drivers on CD do kind of work, but there are serious problems: live TV displays "low bit rate" ever now and then, recorded TV seems to be stored in a format incompatible with 7MC (stalling on playback).

The web site of AMD/ATI says that drivers for Win7 *may* be available in 1st quarter of 2010. Are these guys joking? I probably buy my next product from that source in the first quarter of 2233....

Other Thoughts: The entire architecture of ATI driver installation is broken. I had constantly blue screens of death when trying to install numerous ATI driver packages for this product on my machine. Even though I did not install a graphic card, this stupid software checks my graphic card, and it seems to do that somewhere low-low-low in the system, directly accessing the hardware or what. I'm not sure what let me finally succeed, but I think it was that I explicitly disabled all devices in my system which did not had found drivers for. Tons of trial and error.

Installer software which creates a bluescreen is fundamentally broken.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with Windows 7!

Pros: Works with Windows 7 if you use the cd that ships with it, included remote DOES work to change channels with Media Center, and it works pretty well.

Cons: All of my usb ports are full...

Other Thoughts: Be sure to install the cd before plugging in the hardware

3 out of 5 eggsHappy but disappointed

Pros: It converts the TV signal to my computer. It's small, nice looking, and the picture makes me happy. I don't have anything else to compare it against, though. The software is fine; I like the ability to enlarge the picture to fill my computer screen.

Cons: They sent Total Media Center instead of Catalyst Media Center. While it works to play TV, it can't be controlled by the included remote. I contacted Diamond and they simply told me it doesn't work with Total Media Center. But, they offered and are sending the necessary Catalyst Media Center free of charge.

Other Thoughts: When I try to record football games, it says copyright detected and won't record. Sometimes, if I'm right there and re-start it, it will record. But if I wasn't there, it probably wouldn't record...

2 out of 5 eggsRobed you rebate

Pros: Windows 7 Media Center recognized ATI TV Wonder HD 600 and remote.

Cons: Remote responses not very good. Reception is better with coat hanger antenna.

Other Thoughts: I sent the rebate within a week after I got this item....6 months passed, never received my $20 .... I don't believe this company anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsNo QAM Support

Pros: Simply Amazing Quality in picture and sound. USB works with windows xp, vista, windows 7 beta, windows 7 RC both 64 and 32 versions. Works with Windows Media Center. Nice remote and accessories. "Easy" to setup. Excellent Support Website.

Cons: Video and Audio Studders sometimes for a period of 1min or more when starting up either win media center or ati center. (Affected winxp32 on a alienware laptop and a win7rc64 tower with 4gb ram quadcore 3ghz geforce 260 pci-e. The Antenna that comes with this is a metal dipole antenna you will find on cheap fm radio's. It has this cheap magnetic mount that is terribly weak and a cable wire that makes this thing appear dollar store. Gets hot.

Other Thoughts: Newegg lists there is clear-qam support (digital cable channels), ati and even on the box there is no mention of qam support. I cant find any qam cababilities =(. Making this usb hdtv tuner as generic as all the other brands. If I had a second chance, I would get the e vga.

5 out of 5 eggs24/7 Streaming

Pros: The best USB TV TUNER. I'm using this for broadcasting TV with Justin... using my desktop Dell E-310. Im able to setup the screen size and frames easy. I use the software only to install this hardware, then I deleted. Because I'm using my Tv Tuner with Adobe Flash Media Encoder 2.5 This is fantastic clear picture and clear sound HQ Hihg Quality.

Cons: Antena bad Quality.

Other Thoughts: Using my USB TV TUNER with my Digital Converter TV Box with TV Amplified antena to get the best picture. With high definition quality.

1 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Packaged well.

Cons: Laptop XP, SP2 Home, failed to load drivers needed, despite several attempts and downloading latest from manufacturer's web site. 2 days of trying, no go.
