1 out of 5 eggsComplete junk

Pros: It's recyclable plastic.

Cons: It doesn't work. No drivers for 7. It's pretty much a waste of money. It can't do anything.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Like Charm

Pros: Not getting full SATA 6Gbps speed but close enough. Picked this up as shell shocker deal for $10 shipped, exceeded my expectations.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: For those only getting 180-190 MB/sec you have put the card in the wrong slot type. Most older motherboards only have a PCIe 1.0 x1 slot (250MB/sec max). I ran into this problem with my ASUS Crosshair II Formula. I moved my video cards around (2x 9800GTX+) so that this card would be in the PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and Benchmarks were showing ~350-360 MB/sec...card also detects my Corsair Force 90GB every boot, onboard SATA 2 had issues detecting it and performance was horrible (would only detect as SATA I device so about 100MB/sec).

1 out of 5 eggspiece of junk

Pros: none

Cons: bought a new sata3 ssd, getting 180mb/s read on this piece of junk while getting 220mb/s read on my motherboard which is sata2. was thinking it would be faster since it stated to get up to 6 GB/s, but i was so wrong =(

3 out of 5 eggsCan't use supplied drivers

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Can't used supplied drivers without BSOD.
Reduced write speeds over SATA II using Microsoft drivers.

Other Thoughts: My OCZ Vertex 3 AS SSD score dropped from 307 on my motherboard's SATA 2 to 287 due to a decrease in write performance.

Read score: 104
Write Score: 150

SATAIII (Rocket 620):
Read score: 121
Write score: 104

This is with Microsoft's drivers installed. For some reason when I install the supplied drivers or the Marvell drivers and it BSODS,

I'm currently on a X58 mobo.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked.......slowly

Pros: The card worked...(continue reading in cons)

Cons: a very slow speed. The card was only reading ~180-190 MB/s read speeds using multiple benchmarks on my SATA III SSD rated at 525 MB/s read. I was not expecting the full rated speed, but I was expecting atleast 300-400 MB/s. At these speeds, my onboard SATA II ports were FASTER (~220 MB/s read) than this card.

Other Thoughts: Newegg customer support rocks, decided to just wait till I get a new SATA III mobo to take full advantage of the SSD, still blazing fast at SATA II speeds!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Plug and Play with Windows 2008 Server R2. Never had to load a thing- it just worked. Already formatted my 2TB drive. Will test performance soon, but so far it couldn't be easier. Price, on sale, was amazing

Cons: Wish it had 4-ports!

Other Thoughts: Came with two backplane brackets, short and standard. I had to replace the short one with the standard one with two screws.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Worked out of the box on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Cons: Speeds are not as advertised. I am using this controller to access a SSD which should have 500+mb/s in both read and write, but I am getting under 400mb/s read, 225mb/s write. I've spent countless hours trying to tweak my machine to increase the speed, but the Marvell 9128 chip is to blame.

Do not purchase if you need performance on a machine which does not have SATA 3 ports.

4 out of 5 eggsInstall, connect drive, boot up, no problem

Pros: Installation was trivial

Cons: Dropped in price by five bucks and I ordered before the drop but it's only five bucks and not worth hassling about it.
