So you need to add an additional hard drive to your system but don't have any ports left? Well the Rosewill RC-200 controller card will provide all the ports you need, especially those of you with older systems. With 2 internal Ultra ATA/133 ports, the Rosewill RC-200 will enhance any system and provide loads of expansion. The RC-200 is compliant with UltraDMA6 ATA/133 specifications so it will work on almost any IDE device.
To add to your expansion capabilities, the RC-200 can support RAID in the following modes: RAID0(striping), RAID1(mirroring), RAID 0+1(mirroring+striping) Also keep in mind that you can choose to have just 2 hard drives without RAID. Last but not least the RC-200 includes drivers for most Windows operating systems including Windows 98SE/ ME/ NT 4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista32/64bit.
Other Thoughts: This is a real steal for a controller card that is unbeatable in many respects... Been using this card, and its Koutech cousin for years. My Server has one of these running and XP 1700 and 2 Samsungs in Raid 0+1...its that old. Paired with good 7200 hard drives, it will easily do 90 to 110 mbs/sec.

Cheap and easy RAID card

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: - Cheap - Easy to set up and manage - Use "old" PATA Drives
Cons: - Cheap - Use "old" PATA Drives
Other Thoughts: This is a RAID card on a budget, for both the card and the Hard drives connected to it... It does that job perfectly...

Cons: This controller card will randomly stop recognizing drives, and when this happens, you have to remove the card, and swap it out, I happen to have two of these thanks to this happening, and they both do the same thing, Rosewill, if your gonna put your QC label on the card, at least make sure it works properly!!!. Do not buy this card, as you will have weekly headaches with it, it also seems to happen more often when you shut down the machine
Other Thoughts: This card is one of the worst parts I have ever bought at Newegg.com and I would have thought that it would have been better considering that it was on Newegg...... First bad product offa here, and I've built several machines with parts I've gotten from newegg, and never been dissappointed before..... Don't buy this card

RC-200 RAID PCI was DOA
Reviewed By: on 11/5/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I installed PCI raid controller card into my system but unfortunately it could not read any drives on the primary master slot. Tried switching drives and cables, no joy. From what it looked like, if the card would of worked it would of been SUPER EASY to setup a RAID config. I was very disappointed. The good news is that NewEgg is sending me a new card free of charge and I didnt even have to mail back the old defective card. :) I was very happy about that. I will create another review when the second cards shows up.
Cons: it was DOA. :(

Works fine

Pros: Works good, inexpensive, Windows 7 recognizes this device out of the box without needing to use the provided driver disk. No fuss, i was up and running in under 5 minutes.
Cons: One of the included IDE cables tore because it was a tight fit... seems a little too flimsy, but i have to admit i was stretching it a little bit. If they provided longer cables this would have been avoided.
Other Thoughts: Just buy it already!
