SIIG SC-SA0012-S1 PCI SATA Controller Card

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: Would not see one of two Seagate 500GB drives, would only see one of them if the jumper was set to SATA-I mode. Booted fine in an HP that didn't need a SATA controller, would not get past BIOS loaded screen on SOYO motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Bought the card early and the drives later. Too late for an RMA. Contacting SIIG for any possible assistance at this point. Caveat emptor.

Pros: Bought this card used from a local computer shop for $5. Downloaded the drivers off their website and installed in Windows 2003 Server with no problem. Works along side PATA add on card also.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card for an old Pentium 3 computer I use as a server, mostly for network storage.

Pros: Nice easy installation. Complete opposite from the Mascool's.

Cons: You have to make the Floppy driver yourself from the cd, to install xp with before Windows XP full install will see the hard drive.

Other Thoughts: Still I would pay more for a SIIG anyday now.

Pros: none, didn't work.

Cons: hung my system in various manners. sometimes never booting, then after reading a drive, when i turned off the RAID on my mobo.

Pros: I use these all the time for Hot Swap removeable hard drive backup systems . . . Work great every time

Other Thoughts: I've tried other more expensive brands and nothing works as well as these cards for my application

Cons: I had the same problem as some others, the system hangs after displaying the bios message. It detected the hard drive but would not boot with or without it attached. I tried multiple slots as well.

Pros: Cheap, small size.

Cons: Same problem as the reviewer below me, system would not boot with card installed, it hung on the card's BIOS. Would not recognize any hard drives either.

Other Thoughts: Buggy card, will not buy another of this brand.

Pros: Epox Nforce2 EP-8RDA Motherboard would not boot with card installed in pci slot. It hung on controller card bios screen without any drives attached.

Cons: Not crazy about the restocking fee but I can understand.

Other Thoughts: I did not try this on any other system.
Purchased different card from newegg and it worked fine.

Pros: Installed fine on my system - No issues whatsoever!

Cons: Only a SATA1.5, Only 2 ports.

Other Thoughts: Works great on my AMD1300 with my Western Digital 120GB SATA3.0 ...

Pros: Inexpensive, simple but somewhat odd setup. Fast POST (very good)

Cons: So far, my biggest issue was with the drivers provided on a CD (using for 2003 Server). "Floppy" directory has corrupted files in it. How bad is that?

Other Thoughts: Once you get this card, go to their website www.siig.com and download drivers from there. Copy the contents of "Floppy" directory, and you'll be on your way!
