1 out of 5 eggsBummer

Pros: Got good reviews

Cons: The instant I plugged it in a spark flew out the back (plug-side) and the unit does not power on. Now to begin the process of doing an RMA...

Other Thoughts: Depending on how this RMA is handled I'll be revising my review once I receive a replacement that works properly.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent PSU- Not for Enclosed Spaces

Pros: Good power. Never stutters.

Cons: Gets a little hotter than I'd like in tight spaces.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a mini-ITX build i was doing with a fully custom case. The case is a bit of a tight fit for everything. In this situation the PSU gets a little hotter than I'm really comfortable with, but it's still perfectly acceptable. So, if you're doing a really tight build, I'd recommend something a little less powerful.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo DOA

Pros: Fits in Case. Cables are short

Cons: Doesn't work. I got first one DOA. Spent $$ for shipping for a repair and second one is DOA. Other power supplies of the same manufacturer work and higher and lower Watts work... Just a bad egg unless New Egg shipped me back the same power supply thinking is was good...

Other Thoughts: Was trying to build a cheap PC and so far paid over $300 for nothing that works. sigh. You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsCool and quiet

Pros: Like the title says...even in a very small case like the Apevia X-Fit-100, heat is just not a problem. I had to make a couple of mods to the mounting brackets from the original "power supply" to handle fit and airflow, but nothing big or involved. Warm air exhausts from it, but the side and top of the ps always feel cool.

The Bronze 80 classification is nice, too.

Cons: It won't fix lunch.

Other Thoughts: I've got it paired with a MSI IM-G45 board, a Core 2 Duo T8400 mobile cpu, and 2x2gb of sodimms, DVD writer and a ssd, so I have no power problems.

5 out of 5 eggsA premium product in a budget market

Pros: - Very quiet
- Above average efficiency
- Cool running

Cons: - More expensive than other PSUs in its category
- Silver colored (not black)

Other Thoughts: Cables are 10" to 12" long, except the 24-pin, which is 6".

I am building an HTPC (ITX FM1 motherboard, A8-3870K) and needed a PSU. I originally bought an Athena Power 220W PSU but had to return it... here's some quick figures comparing this FSP unit to cheaper units like Athena Power:

System power draw while Off: FSP = 2.0W AP = 3.2W
System power draw while Idle: FSP = 37.1W AP = 40.8W
System power draw under Load: FSP = 159W AP = 170W
Noise (Idle, 90F ambient, one foot away): FSP=34dB AP=45dB
At normal ambient temperatures, this PSU is almost inaudible (~30dB).

If noise, efficiency and heat are important to you, spend the extra for this PSU; you'll be glad you did.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall, Powerful, Efficient, Pricey

Pros: Got this for a mITX build. Got tired of the cheap power supplies they came with. This one can carry the load quite well - thank you very much.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Tested on my Quad-Core AMD setup for about 10 days uptime now. No hiccups or reboots to report.
