not reliable in long run
- Pros: no fans=silent. looks cool. pretty good cable management. high efficiency.
- Cons: These didn't stand the test of time. Bought two of these for use in two older Intel P4's, as a means to bring the noise down. First one died in about 10 months. Second one lasted a bit over a year. If paying a premium, I expect a PSU to be reliable and last a LONG time.
- Other Thoughts: After the PSU failure, both machines would "light-up" but wouldn't boot. 2nd machine started having problems shutting down about 1 month before full failure - would continually reboot instead of shutting down. Once I replaced the power supplies in both machines, everything went back to normal.
Terrible company and product
- Pros: It never worked so I don't have any.
- Cons: The company will *NOT* respond to my emails about the defective power supply. It died the day I installed it which was unfortunately long after I bought it.
- Other Thoughts: I have emailed FSP *several* times over the last year and not a single response. This company is a scam and will not honor their warranty or even give customers the time of day when they have a problem.
Its been working for over a year!
- Pros: Its a solid, silent power supply.
- Cons: Its a solid performer, but is limited in power availability. Lots components today require more power, so be cautious with your application of this unit.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this from NewEgg a little over a year ago and it's been running like a champ - until recently. I'm now starting to get POST issues, where I press the power button to turn on and get a bunch of fast beeps (POST error indicating power problems). I'm running this on a Gigabyte 965P-DS3, Core2Duo 2.4G, XFX 7600GS, 2G Ram, 2 Sea 320G HDs
