Pros: The Verbatim 8.5GB DVDs hold just about any full length movie without compromising the quality of the film. If you're using these discs for storage, you've got almost twice the storage as the average DVD-R, +R, etc. I have burned about 40 of these discs over the past year, and I haven't burned a single coaster to date. When using them for movies, I've been able to play them in at least 4 different DVD players ranging from brand new to about 6 years old.

Cons: I haven't noticed any real problems or annoyances with this product. I haven't tried any other brands since I've been very happy with these Verbatim discs. Perhaps others are as good or better, but I haven't been compelled to try others yet.

Other Thoughts: Dual layers are a tad expensive, but Verbatim is offering a rebate with the 20-pack. Additionally, I really wish they'd sell these in packs of 50 or even 100. I'd definitely buy them.

Pros: Use to be good and reliable.

Cons: Now that they moved their production to a different country the quality is horrible. I have coastered 12 in a twenty pack.

Other Thoughts: Will research new DL DVDs.

Pros: I have had a 100% success rate after burning forty of these over the last six months.

Cons: DLs are a tad pricy but not more so than anywhere else

Other Thoughts: I can't imagine buying anything other than Verbatim

Pros: So far no coasters after 5 burns. Samsung drive
using Win XP on a Dual Core AMD machine with 4GB RAM. I always kill any non essential background processes before doing any burns on DL DVDs.

Cons: None so far.
