TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD-R 100 Packs Spindle Disc Model 48520

Pros: from my experience plays on more DVD players, old and new, then any other product out there.

Other Thoughts: Tried to go cheap and got the ridata. they suck. I'll always be loyal to TDK. been using them for over 10 yrs. and never failed me yet. just wish they did DL in DVD-R.

Pros: I usually only use TDK or Maxell. I have been using these same discs for years now, and I can't remember ever having a coaster. They seem to play on all DVD players, old and new. I still only trust DVD-R to be fully compatible, but maybe I am just old-school.

Cons: EVERYTHING!

TDK gives callibration area full errors and unspecified recorder error on pioneer and asus drives hit or miss. If I burn 4-6 at once my pc freezes but with RiData none of those issues happen.

Pros: Fantastic discs and price. Not one single coaster or write/read failure after about 80% of the disks filled with DVD movies.

Pros: If You Get The TDK's That were Made For TDK/ Imation By CMC Then Great !!! the Burn Like a House on Fire !!! In my Liteon Drive They do anyways !!! ? The Ritek Made TDK's are Good Too But My Drive and Computer seems to Live The CMC Made Version Better and burn them at Higher Speed without Problems !

Though I'm Sure That They Maybe some Secret PN # or Code or perhaps Label pattern , Or CakeBox style That will allow one to tell The Difference before one opens the Package I don't Know about it , atleast not yet? Alsothough not directly Picking on TDK"s DVD Media ? You Must Remember that Most of Your Major Name DVD Media Brands Don't make their own Media anymore !!! Sony Still Does Some , JVC / Taiyo Yuden { formerly Taiyo Yuden { Bought JVC 's Media Division } does , Verbatim Does make their media or atleast most of it ?Some Old Maxells { made In Japan - Hitachi's } Hitachi is Maxells Parent Company !!! are ! but Otherwise If it's a Major / Recognizable Brand Then Odds Favor The Actual or Oem Manufacturer Being Either Ritek, Ricoh or CMC On The Lesser known brands It's more Of a Crapshoot ? as to Who really makes The media itself as well as Quality wise and in This case Pennywise may be Pound Foolish Imho anyways !!!

Other Thoughts: Anybody Know how To Tell The Riteks From The CmC made TdK's without Opening The Package or Using The Program DVD identifier ?

Pros: High quality, never receive any read errors or defective discs.

Pros: Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Cons: Everything you can possibly imagine. None of the DVDs work, pure and simple. I have tried 5-10 of these now without success. I have tried using different software, burning different projects, using DVD-Rs from various layers of the stack, but to no avail. I always get an error message in the very beginning. I even tried using my last Memorex DVD on one of the same projects, and voila! It suddenly burned perfectly!

I have no experience with TDK, but I will in no way shape or form get anywhere near their products again. I hope others listen and do the same.

Other Thoughts: I really have no other thoughts. I don't want to think more about this horrible product and company.

Pros: Work OK, bargain price.

Cons: Screw-thread cake box popped open in shipping and puked out the discs, a couple were scratched.

Other Thoughts: These discs were made in Taiwan by Ritek, code RITEKF1, if you're happy with RiData discs you'll be happy with these. From experience, I expect 2-3 coasters out of 100 in addition to the scratched ones. Still, 90+ good discs at sale price is worthwhile to me.

Pros: This is a great deal! 100 pack for only $19.99(as of this date). I actually only paid $17.98 with shipping as they were on sale. I read the reviews...and went with it. Glad I did!! The discs arrived in less than 24 hours and I have not had ONE coaster yet! And I have gone through almost half. Sometimes I get an error with burning, but I just pop out the disc and put it back in and it works fine. Definitely a steal!!
