5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Fantastic power supply. Lots of connectors and you know Seasonic is among the best you can get. Worth the premium.

Cons: As others have pointed out the cables are pretty stiff and somewhat hard to work with.

Other Thoughts: This was my first modular power supply and in hindsight I probably should have gone with a standard PSU. I ended up using most of the connectors anyway.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD WARRANTY SUPPORT

Pros: the "warranty" and efficiency rating

Cons: BAD WARRANTY SUPPORT, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ETC.

Other Thoughts: The most recent computer I built in December, I decided to get a top knotch power supply to improve the overall stability of my machine. Because of the 5 year warranty, the efficiency rating and numerous good reviews, I selected this power supply.

BUT this P/S just died on me after 6 months of use in a simple machine with 1 SATA II disk and an ASUS M3A78-EM mobo with an AMD X2 6000+.

I called SEASONIC, an oriental sounding lady answered, she was difficult to understand, finally she said I had to work on this issue over email - kevinh@seasonic.com. Kevin told me to "test" the P/S using a paper clip, the test failed.

Then Kevin told me to complete an RMA request and the document said that I need to pay the shipping of this P/S back to SEASONIC!

I questioned him on this - he said, that is there policy, that other P/S manufactures have the same policy.

This does not sound like a product with a REAL 5 year warranty behind it.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet

Pros: Stable and quiet, makes only a slight ticking sound only if you put your ear to it.

Cons: Cables are too stiff. Black on black plugs are hard to see even in the best lighting, some orientation markings would be handy, cables/plugs in happy bright colors other than black would be nice too.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid, Quiet - like a ninja

Pros: Quiet, stable, efficient, reliable. I loved the modular idea - though in truth I'm using every power distribution cable so maybe that wasn't so critical for me.

Cons: The very nature of a modular power supply means it's possible to lose power distribution cables that you're storing for future use, which can be inconvenient when you actually need that cable.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this PSU whole-heartedly for anyone whose needs would be met by 600W, and who will not fill up every drive bay. Otherwise, modular really doesn't matter.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and capable

Pros: Very quiet (my old PSU was a Silverstone Zeus ST65ZF and that was super loud). The 2nd fan hasn't kicked in yet.

Modular is very nice.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggssolid power supply

Pros: This is my second modular power supply, and I can't go back. I've been using this Seasonic PSU for a year now with no problems. My machine idles at about 180 W and uses about 350-400W under full load. This 600W unit provides more than enough power for my needs:

Athlon 64 X2 5000 w/Zalman 9700
2 GB RAM
2x 8800GTS 512 in SLI
5 Hard drives
3 120 mm fans

Cons: Not all of the wiring is modular. The motherboard power connectors are all fixed. The 24 pin, the 4 pin, and the 8 pin. I don't need the 8 pin, but I can't remove it.
The PSU only supports 2 6-pin PCIe power connectors natively. Any more 6-pin or any 8-pin connectors need an adapter.

Other Thoughts: This one isn't the fault of the power supply, but worth considering. Because of the modular power connectors, I had trouble fitting the PSU into my case. I had to develop a solution that shifts the PSU about an inch out the back of my case. Fortunately, it looks better than it sounds...

5 out of 5 eggsOver 1 Year later...

Pros: Great power supply. Modular design is awesome, makes for a very tidy looking case inside. No issues with power fluctuation or any other problems.

Cons: A little pricy for a 600watt PS.

Other Thoughts: Modular PS is definately the way to go if you like the build to look as good as it performs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Guy

Pros: Reliable, Modular, Quiet

I Bought this after the stock Apevia power supply that came with my case died (in 2 weeks). I was having power issues, and stability problems, as well as video play back issues b/c the processor wasn't getting all the juice it needed. After some tests I narrowed the PSU down as the culprit. So I bought this reputable quality PSU. It fixed every one of my problems and now my HTPC just sings! I cannot stress enough how important it is to get a quality power supply! So many problems can be linked to a bad PSU! I knew this but thought I had to deal with the one that came with the case because of size issues. Lucky for me the case still had enough room to fit (tightly) a standard ATX PSU! So I went with the best!

Cons: A little bit big if you are trying to stuff it in a Micro ATX case, but if just barely fit and is working wonderfully!

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom AM2+ 9600, APEVIA X-QPACK2 case (mATX), ASUS M3A78-CM mATX motherboard, ASUS EAH4550/DI/512MD3 Radeon HD 4550 512MB, 2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB drives.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Mostly modular design gets the job done. I saw others mention it but it went into a fairly large case and having the mobo power line permanently attached was not an issue for me. Your mileage may vary.

Only needed a handful of power cables and left the rest in the box. The case is nice and clean.

Runs cool and is nice and quiet.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: This is the first modular PSU I've used. Just based on how nice and clean the finished product is, not having to bundle up the unused cables in the case, I won't be going back.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply, what's to say

Pros: Does what it says, provides great efficient power. The built in fans are perfect, only spinning up quietly if needed. Modular cables make for a clean install, with no extras hampering airflow. I've owned previous Seasonic units, they never give me any trouble.

Cons: No reason for the mobo power cables not to be modular, they're hardwired. Annoying, I'd prefer to be able to install with no cables hanging out.

Other Thoughts: Some hybrid Sata/molex cables would have been nice. Existing cables are either one or the other.
