Seems solid!
- Pros: It works and does a fine job of powering my system. It's pretty quiet. Not much more to say about it at this point.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Bought it because it's a reputable brand.
SeaSonic RMA Issue
- Pros: Was very inexpensive for a 80Plus, amazing warranty description.
- Cons: After approx 8 months of use my computer stopped working. I went through all the troubleshooting and even jumped the psu so it would boot without the MB.
3 Motherboards later I conclude that this PSU is not only dead, but frying everything it touches. My S/N will not work on SeaSonic's RMA page, and although tech support at SS was fast at getting me a paper form, I have not heard from them since I submitted my request on January 27th, 2009.
A warranty is only as good as a company's follow through. A 5 year warranty is worthless with these results.
- Other Thoughts: Serial Number R0803AA222110073
Retail Model Name SeaSonic S12 II SS-430GB 430W
Because of these results I will do all the research I can to make sure not even a capacitor in any further PSU's I buy is made by SeaSonic, I don't care how much more I have to pay, it will be a sound investment.
Great solid quiet psu
- Pros: Very quiet, great connections and very reliable.
This is my 2nd s12 430w and I also own a 600w s12 aswell.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Never had the fan ticking until this one when I first plugged it in.
Obviously a little loose wire and by gentle rotating the psu whilst on (not in a case) soon stopped the ticking. Still doesn't knock off that t5 star rating as it's a simple solution and rare in my experience of the s12's
