3 out of 5 eggsDead, but Customer service good so far

Pros: Appears to be well built, lots of cables. More than enough power. Very quiet. So far Seasonic customer service had been great. Emailed support on a Sat. evening, they emailed me back shortly after with an RMA form. I filled it out and emailed it back. Received a RMA # just after Midnight on Sunday, Ups mailing lable is supposed to be emailed to me. I figured it would be Monday before I would hear anything. Will keep updated.

Cons: Shut computer off, came back several hours later, hit the power button and nothing. Tested output, found 1 pin of 24 pin ATX connector had 5 VDC, everything else dead. Kind of bummed. First time I have bought a high end power supply.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully the rest of the RMA process goes smoothly. So far I am impressed. Missing 2 eggs for the failure, not any lower than that because of the customer service. Every company has products that fail, it is the way they handle them that means more than anything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price

Pros: I was able to pick this up with a $50 off coupon from newegg's newsletter. So the price wasn't an issue. When it arrived and opening the package I thought I was opening a top shelf liquor. Apparently this is the way of the Power Supplies these days as my buddy bought a Corsair PSU and it had the same Crown Royal treatment.

I was very happy with the wrap SeaSonic used on the modular cables. Not thick, and with the linear design made for better cable management. The amount of cables was enough to power up all my components without having me scrounge for more or adding ridiculous converting cables. I am cutting it close with the 850W power rating with my Crossfire build, but everything seems to work wonderfully, and so far so good!

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsLosing faith in the pc industry

Pros: worked great for a wile..

Cons: my psu started to make a chirping noise yesterday so I took it out put it on the table outside of the pc, I reconnected everything an tested the voltages on idel.. everything was fine so I tested with full load still with normal voltages nothing weird..but the twist is that the noise completely went away wile the psu was out of the pc case, I left it on for close to a day an nothing no noise. I decided to put it back an then it stared the noise again. now tell me why is that happening, its so weird idk what to do because the psu voltages is fine an no crashes or anything completely stable. now it makes noise when i put the PC in Power Save mode, also in my earphones connected to my front panel i can hear it slightly. i am seriously regretting coming back into the custom build PC field, i heard that Seasonic gives back used PSU's even if you gave then a brand new fully paid for unit that only has flaw's because of their bad manufacturing not user errors, i don't see how this is fair or good practice. no one seems to care about quality anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsGreater Powersupply EXCEPT 2 PCI-E Plugs melted in PS

Pros: its a great power supply, modular. However I started to have video card problems...swapped out video cards because I thought it was that. Nope...it turns out the 8 pin PCI-E power connectors were starting to melt in the PCI-E power ports.

Cons: I started to have video card problems...swapped out video cards because I thought it was that. Nope...it turns out the 8 pin PCI-E power connectors were starting to melt in the PCI-E power ports. There is literally fused/melted plastic casings in my power supply. To be fair I was running a 375w 7990 Radeon which requires 2 x 8 ping power connectors, however I have never seen ends of wires melt like this. I am a desktop engineer and have been doing computer for about 17+ years now.

Other Thoughts: I am not sure if I should return this or ask seasonic for new power cords. It does kind of alarm me that this would happen. I've only had my Sapphire 7990 and This power supply almost 2 weeks.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the best PSU i have had till now.

Pros: Some of the Pros which I observed right out of the box
1) Packaging
2) Build quality
3) Labelled Cables as in PSU side and Component side
4) Lot of cables
This is very nice and sturdy PSU. I have abused it for 1 month and it still hasn;t got any scratch till date.. very nice and definitely Seasonic is only to look for years to come

Cons: Only Con i saw is the HDD/SDD Sata power cable is very small in my case...

Other Thoughts: They should sleeve the cables nicely like how corsair offers or atleast a separate cost option should be there..

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PSU!!!

Pros: It is a modular PSU with wrapped cabling. Helps with cable clutter and does not impede air flow like unwrapped ribbon cables. Each cable fits snugly into its designated slot (PSU and mobo) and they are easy to remove as well.

This PSU provides an ample amount of power for the typical gamer. I'm running a Core i7-3770 K with 2x - GTX 660s in SLI and at max load with benchmarking software this PSU hardly breaks a sweat.

Runs cool and it's crazy quiet, there is absolutely no coil whine with this unit. I like the addition of a switch to switch the fans from Normal/Hybrid. Haven't really seen much of a difference with Hybrid on though but it is still a nice function to have. PSU is on daily with 3-5 hours of daily use for gaming and video editing. Stays cool despite constant fluctuations in load as well as the noise.

A plethora of accessories comes in the packaging such as a carrying bag, cable ties, etc. It's nice that to have that included velcro cable ties for proper cable management with the modular cables. I don't think I would be using the carrying bag anytime soon though.

Cons: Would have liked a few models with LED's to match with my case.

Other Thoughts: Overall this an excellent PSU. It runs cool, quiet and is very stable at max loads especially for gaming and benchmarking. The wattage provided should suffice for the average gamer but if you are looking for something more high end such as a Sandy Bridge E CPU with a GTX TITAN SLI, you may need to look for a a PSU with a higher wattage. Kind of a no brainer. I would highly recommend looking for a power calculator online to calculate your estimated power usage with the parts you are planning to use. Also like I mentioned earlier this PSU does not have any LED's but however is very stable. If you are looking for a PSU for a build you may need to weigh that option for there are not may LED PSUs that are stable as this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased, minus my own mistake

Pros: I'll go through pros from unboxing to turning on with all plugs in.

1. Unboxing - Beautiful box, beautiful & soft travel bag, very useful cord bag (filled with tons of excess cords for future upgrades!)
2. Checking fan - Very quiet; basically silent. Has neat hybrid/normal fan switch for those "supercharged" PC's

Took out old supply.

3. Cable hookup - Cables are (basically) labeled for someone with PC experience; wires are well protected, especially M/B power cable; will mention again how many cables this comes with, I could plug in almost 2 PC's worth of stuff with them
4. PC Turn on - Still very quiet while plugged into 1TB HDD, GTX 550Ti, Intel i7 2gb/s MB, 2 fans besides own
5. 3 day usage - Very cool, never really heats up even with continuous hours of use; very quiet (i use pressurized air to clean PC insides daily)

Very satisfied; provides everything with power, and then some, for my SSD I'm ordering after this review. Will buy SeaSonic 1000w for my next upgrade/custom PC build.

Cons: None; but I have a *doh* story about this PSU.
I have a Dell XPS 8300. Great build, but I was unaware the power supply in the XPS 8300 was somewhat smaller than this power supply. I still cannot fit it in because of the NON-REMOVABLE USB/headphone, fat, wires on top of the case.

5 out of 5 eggs850 is enough

Pros: Nice full modular PSU.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I run a Asus GTX680 DCU 4G and I plan to over clock my card and cpu to a mild point, and also down the road I will go sli, and this PSU will still be nough to handle my other 680 believe it or not. I did a TON of research, trust me on this !

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy.

Pros: None.

Cons: Tried this Power Supply twice, both had horrible coil whine right out of the packaging. I didn't even put it in my computer, you could hear this thing just plugging it into the wall and turning it on. A normal power supply is silent, and you can't even tell if it's on. This one just plugged into the wall starting whining and making horrid noises. I sent one back, and the second one did the exact same thing. Very disappointing, if 2 power supplies in a row had a ridiculously horrid coil whine, there is clearly a quality control issue at Seasonic with this particular power supply. Buyer beware.
