2 out of 5 eggsWorks OK But...........

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Works
Good price

Cons: Very, very noisy
Cheaply made
Caused a ripple on my monitor

Other Thoughts: Works, cheaply made, light weight, thin wires. The noise coming out of this PS is unbelievably loud. It also caused a ripple in my monitor at 75Hz, but smoothed out at 72Hz..

I am returning it to Newegg.

Manufacturer Response:

We have heard your response and forwarded over to our production team in our manufacture factory overseas.

1 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Bought two,they both work.

Cons: They BOTH send out a RF, radio frequency signal that intolerably squeals my AM radio 30 ft away.
Plan to keep the radio, and hope I get my initial postage back on both returns.

4 out of 5 eggsBasic & Inexpensive But Decent Power Supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive; not DOA and so far, so good; not too loud as others have said, but I am only using it for testing spare parts right now.

Cons: Feels (very light) and looks cheap quality-wise; limited connectors (no 6-pin/8-pin PCIe connectors); very short cables if your PS location is at the bottom of the case.

Other Thoughts: Since I am using this PS for testing my spare parts only (or in a basic computer in the future), I think that I should be fine with it. And even if the PS kills my parts, I know that it won't cost me much. However, if you are constantly worried about a malfunctioning PS might one day destroy everything (especially expensive components) in your PC, then I would highly recommend spending more on a quality one, instead. And also, the PS that you get is without the power button, unlike what you see in the photo.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat but loud

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Though I'm used to higher end builds that utilize Modular or Semi-Modular PSUs, this one really wasn't too bad. When I opened it up (yes, the warranty is probably void now), I saw good quality capacitors and a generator core. Great Power supply for how cheap it is.

Cons: Exhaust fan at the rear of the unit is very noisy. When I opened it up, I did replace the 80mm fan (yes, i'm sure it definitely voided warranty now) with a cheap thermaltake fan. Now the power supply runs much quieter.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry that the fan was too loud.
In the future if you need any parts, fans, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Price
Works fine

Cons: Loud !!
Sharp edges can cut deep into flesh :(

Other Thoughts: Bought this so i could take my good PSU and use it in one of my mining rigs. When i buy my next batch of video cards i will be buying another PSU that isn't so loud to replace this one.

If the sound level matters to you at all spend a little more and get a higher quality PSU that isn't so loud.

3 out of 5 eggsBarely enough

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: inexpensive
good for replacing PS on an older system

Cons: Barely enough power cables

1 out of 5 eggsVery Cheap, Very VERY Loud

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Price, works perfectly (at a extremely loud noise level)

Cons: NOTE: This is for the 380w Raidmax, I can't speak for any other model such as the 450watt model.
It is a very cheap power supply, wires are thin and very short (Works fine on small mATX OEM pc's that are top mounted), the actually PSU box is very light weight (Which usually means bad quality components). It did work on my Dell Vostro HTPC, but it was VERY VERY loud. Like louder even much louder then my gaming PC at full load.

Other Thoughts: Both me and my friend purchased one to fix broken Dell PSU's and they both sound like JET engines.

I would NOT recommend this PSU to anybody. I ended up returning it the next day to my local electronics store and buying a 350 watt Basiq Antec PSU, that is much better quality cables, much heavier PSU Box, and silent compared to this jet rocket. For only 29.99.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We regret to hear that this PSU did not work out well for you.
We're sorry that it might of been too loud for you.
In future, if you have any concerns regarding our products, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

5 out of 5 eggsinexpensive ps

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: It worked out of the box. It replaced failing Bestec ATX-250-12Z rev D7R in my HP Pavilion a6528p desktop computer. It survived burn in (prime95 torture test overnight).

Cons: The unit does not have the on/off switch shown in pictures (which I don't need since my computer has its own power switch). I needed to remove some metal from Pavilion case using Dremel tool to get this PS to fit.
