4 out of 5 eggsGood for smaller builds.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Fantastic product as long as you monitor the wattage you are running.
Led is nice for being able to get a look at your fan.

Cons: Fairly low wattage leaves little room for later upgrades.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend.

2 out of 5 eggs3 years or of it.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Fan want good, burnt up.

Other Thoughts: I got about 3 years out of this psu. Then it started smoking. I recommend paying a little more for a better made psu. This may be cheap, but if your psu goes out it could blow your system.

In my opinion it pretty unacceptable to only get 3 years out of a component. Since most people on here upgrade their system every 5-7 years at a minimum. They should be built well enough to get 5 years or of them.
I'm a electrician by trade and a psu is just a transformer, i have gotten more life out of a 5 dollar doorbell transformer.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsRaidmax to the MAXX

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Modular design.
Installed easily enough.
Supplying power.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: I am writing this immediately after installation. So far, so good. If anything changes, I will update my review. I knew going in that it has a blue led. Which, somehow works nicely with my red led for my case. I dig it.

Pros: Ran great for about 2 years

Cons: Started getting noisy during start up after about two years now at the 3 year mark it rattles like an old furnace.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry to hear that the PSU only lasted around 3 years.
We wish a PSU can last longer, unfortunately all batteries have a cell life and cannot last forever.

2 out of 5 eggsInsanely noisy

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: + Cheap
+ Very good wattage for the price
+ Modular

Cons: - It might be modular, but this doesn't help much when one of the modules for HD power will not fit in any of the PSU plugs, even though there was nothing visibly wrong with the module plug. After some head-scratching I swapped for another module and that one worked.
- This is the noisiest PSU I have ever seen bar none. It's bad enough even on idle, even without a graphic card in the system. Install a card though, even one that isn't particularly power hungry, and the noise is ear-piercing. Even on idle I could hear the PSU fan while in the next room, with the door closed. With the system working nearer to full power running a game, the fan was loud enough to drown out music and sound effects.

Other Thoughts: I was quite excited getting this since I saw some good reviews and a great performance/price ratio. I may end up having to replace it very soon though, because the noise is untenable. You know something's wrong when you have 3 case fans, a CPU fan, 2 graphic card fans, and yet the only noise coming out of your PC is the PSU fan. I tried installing the PSU in different positions to try and minimize the noise, but nothing was good enough (as in, it went from drowning out the construction site in the next block to only drowning out music and game sounds. No, I'm not joking, it really was that loud). Something is clearly creating resonance in there, but I can't tell what, and I don't see anything wrong by just looking at it. Shame, because the PSU itself seems otherwise fine for the low price, but I guess you do get what you pay for, one way or the other.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry to hear that this PSU is too noisy for you.
The problem will probably be the fan itself.
If you want to learn how to get a replacement, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse than Molex; not worth the bleeding.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: I wouldn't know, since I never got it connected to anything.

Cons: I've had easier time with Molex connectors. A friend purchased this for a system build I'm doing for him. I thought "hey, good price, decent reviews, modular, what could go wrong?"

The connectors. The connectors went wrong. I tried every SATA power cable on every connector on the PSU itself, and not a single one went in smoothly.

I tried multiple connectors both sides... didn't work.

I tried wiggling one in, including shifting the cables on the back like you sometimes have to do with poorly built Molex... didn't work.

I tried using a little bit of extra elbow grease, since it looked like the connectors made nice tight connections... oops! Pushed the connectors out the back of the cable AND cut up my fingers! Just like Molex, but with extra injury!

I'm having my friend return this, and using my spare Cooler Master V550 on this build. This is either poor QA or poor design - either way, I no longer have confidence in this brand. An extremely poor first impression.

Other Thoughts: Quite frankly, I'm glad I wasn't the one who spent the money on this.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry you're having difficulties with this PSU.
We like to hear from you and see what we can do for you.
Please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.
