The Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W W0133RU is a high-end power supply unit ideal for advanced users who demand greater cooling and higher power for their systems. The Active Power Factor Corrector (Active PFC) helps the unit to deliver a stable 1200 Watts of continuous output (in 50? operating environment) with up to 87% efficiency. Four independent and dedicated +12V rails (12V1, 12V2, 12V3, 12V4) enhance power distribution and provide superior performance for your PC.
The Toughpower W0133RU is compatible with dual core CPU, quad core CPU, NVIDIA SLI, Quad SLI and ATI CrossFire technologies, with three 6-pin and three 8-pin (downward compatible with 6-pin PCI-E connectors) PCI-E connectors that allow connectivity to multiple graphic cards. The efficient Modularized Cable Management system eliminates wire clutter and enhances airflow for cooling. The 14 cm ball-bearing fan that reduces hot spots, offers excellent, quiet cooling
In addition, the Toughpower W0133RU uses industrial grade components with Independent Voltage Circuits for stable output and protection against potential voltage surges. Reliability is ensured with the MTBF of more than 120,000 hours, and it's virtually immune to over voltage, over current, and potential short-circuits.

This power supply is a BEAST!
- Pros: Read the following review. It should help you in making your decision if you are in the market for a 1kw or above power supply.
- Cons: None. Some might say the price is too high, but it is worth every cent.
- Other Thoughts: The average user wont need this kind of horsepower. It's geared towards the dual and quad sli crowd with multiple hard drives and cooling devices. The power supply is often where people choose to spend the least amount of money to get the job done. However, if you know anything about building computers then you should know that having a good power supply is crucial to your system's stability under heavy load or when its operating at a high temperature. I suggest that anyone building a machine should do some research prior. Be sure that you know what kind of power requirements your system will need when under load and not just under normal cicrumstances.
8800 ultra hungry gamers choice
- Pros: excellent for two 8800 ultra, comes with four cable for SLI, this power supply always hungry for more, very stable. this thing worth every penny . i work with alot of PS daily and let me tell you nothing even come close to this one. im in love with this thing. ALSO ITS SUPER QUIET YOU CAN BARELY HEAR IT.
- Cons: nothing really.
- Other Thoughts: running Intel quad core overclocked to 3.6 1.5votls stable. thanks to this power supply and 6 hard drives, two 8800 ultra in sli and two dvd RW, two water cooling system , and much much more and still can handle much more. very powerful stable PS i recommend it to every gamer out there. it works great with EVGA 680I A1 SLI MB.

Great while it lasted...
- Pros: Quiet, the modular cable management system is very nice, one of the main reasons I bought it.
- Cons: Have had it 14 months, last week, computer just shut down, but not completely. The monitors went black, the power light went out and some fans stopped spinning, but the case lights and cpu fan remained on. I cut the power and restarted and same thing, with a "CPU INIT" error on the motherboard. After jumping through hoops trying to reset CMOS thinking it was a problem with mobo or cpu I read it could also be PSU. Decided to test the voltages. the 3.3 and 5 were okay, but the 12V had nothing. Connected my roomie's powere supply to my benched mobo and cpu and it continued on to tell me I didn't have RAM (which I did not).
- Other Thoughts: Thermaltake has a weird advance RMA where if you give them your credit card number for backup they'll send you a new one before they get the old one. I reprinted my newegg invoice, hope that works. After reading some of these reviews about similar problems and voltage variations, I'm kind of nervous about even using this PSU again. This thing claims automated voltage regulation and yet demonstrates 3.3v varitions of 1.3 volts? That's enough to fry stuff in the computer!
Quirky after 1 year
- Pros: Modular and solid construction, works well most of the time.
- Cons: most of the time is not enough. It exhibits the same problem I have seen posted here many times. It will not power back on after shutdown. The lights blink the fan spins for a second and then nothing. I have to unplug it and wait 30 min and then it works. I am afraid it may go out and damage the rest of my system.
- Other Thoughts: I have an email to TT's support staff. I will update here with any progress. If they RMA it and the problem goes away, Im still a happy customer
Same as most others
- Pros: All the stats are great, modular cabling is a great idea, easy to install and use. Did not have a problem with cable lengths as some others had suggested, and I'm using an ATX Full Tower.
- Cons: DOA, RMA for refund.
- Other Thoughts: Had high hopes for this. Install was a breeze, plugged in connectors no problem. Left on for 3 hours, came back to find the computer dead. Went through all basic ts, check connections, resat everything, just tried plugging in MB only couldn't get it to power up. Fans moved for a second at start up, then system hung/turns off and can't be started again.
It's funny, in their manual that comes with the thing there's only 2 troubleshooting items..."No DC Output" and 3 steps, then condition 2 "The fan begins rotating then stops at power on" which has 2 obvious steps then a note to RMA if reseating connections doesn't work.
That doesn't instill a lot of confidence with me.
