The Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W W0155RU is a high-end power supply unit ideal for advanced users who demand greater cooling and higher power. The Active Power Factor Corrector (Active PFC) helps deliver a stable 1000 Watts of continuous output with up to 87% efficiency. Four independent and dedicated +12V rails (12V1, 12V2, 12V3, 12V4) enhance power distribution and provide superior performance for your PC.
The Toughpower W0155RU is compatible with dual core CPU, quad core CPU, NVIDIA SLI, Quad SLI and ATI CrossFire technologies, with three 6-pin and three 8-pin (downward compatible with 6-pin PCI-E connectors) PCI-E connectors that allow connectivity to multiple graphic cards. The 14 cm ball-bearing fan reduces hot spots, and offers excellent and quiet cooling.
In addition, the Toughpower W0155RU uses industrial grade components with Independent Voltage Circuits for stable, reliable output and protection against potential voltage surges. Reliability comes with a MTBF of more than 120,000 hours, and it's virtually immune to over voltage, over current, and potential short-circuits.

Perfect
- Pros: Supports the new 8 pin quad core ATX EPS 12v rails, AWESOME!
Super quiet, very efficient, surprisingly low temperature. A million types of connections. Cords are wrapped but still flexible. Comes with even more connectors.
- Cons: Not modulated, but I don't trust modulated power supplies just yet, something about breaking a connection and then reattaching it can mess with signal quality.
- Other Thoughts: It still has 2 strands of molex connectors, which is good, as case fans and other 3rd party items still use it. Needs more SATA power connectors, used all 8 in my system, but then again I have allot of stuff running, thats the whole point of the 1000W ratting.
Solid, but not the best out
- Pros: Enough Power to run ANYTHING.
I've run Quad Cores OC'dto 4ghz and Quad SLI 8800GTX and also 9800GX2 on this PSU with no power issues whatsoever even with 8gb of ram and 5 hard drives and 12 fans+ 6 CC lights. Yes! This does have the 8 pin PCIe connector the new 9800GX2 cards require! Still plenty of power left over!
- Cons: Runs very warm, not quite ho -it does not make the case warmer, it's jsut not as cool as some of the newer units out. This not realy a con. I'm just nit picking becasue I have nothing to complain about.
- Other Thoughts: I would Rather had Moduler cables, but these are so pretty and flexable I was able to hide them easily in the mid tower case.
I accidentally ordered this model instead of the modular one. I highly recomend the modular one.
