5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU

Pros: Cable length
Nicely wrapped cables
Keeps on working

Cons: Not modular?

Other Thoughts: Keep reading about how this is a low-tier psu, but I've been using it for over a year with 0 issues. Currently powering an OC R9 270x, 3x 230mm case fans, 1x 140mm case fan, 3x HDD's, and a Phenom II 965 BE. Currently looking to upgrade to a kilowatt unit, but this thing will go into my backup PC for sure. Why all the hate on this thing?

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU thus far.

Pros: Really quiet, almost a whisper. The power supply is giving consistent power and has not derped up at all apon installation. The cord management is amazing, but I would have liked if they packaged zip ties just because it can get a bit messy regardless. The price was good for what I got and it will do until my next PC overhaul.

Cons: Eh, I don't know much about efficency, but I can tell it lacks some. But my rig isn't at a point where it will kill me because my old PSU was awful. The mounting skrews didnt line up with the case, but I will blame the case maker for that.

Other Thoughts: Just in general runs good, makes me happy, and I am still a happy customer. Plus the Thermaltake 5 year warranty is great too, so if it dies on me I can send it back. I kept my old PSU just in case. I enjoy it, so yeah. Up to you guys.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed in less than a year

Pros: Decent cabling and worked well for a while...

Cons: Died after less than a year...

Other Thoughts: It appears the 5v still works (green light on motherboard) but the 12v has failed. I've had poor luck with power supplies. A 550w OCZ power supply lasted under 2 years on the same machine (6 core phenom II, single GeForce core 216 video card...). I've killed several cheaper Antc power supplies on other machines as well. Not sure what brand to try next...

1 out of 5 eggsSketchy power supply

Pros: Cable management is nice- braided wrap cables, good length

Cons: Power supply started to go sketchy on me about two months into ownership. Wasn't happy powering my GTX660ti video card, even after I removed the monster card, psu would cause random power drop bluescreens. Swapped in my old antec 430w and now it's stable. Really really displeased with this product.

Other Thoughts: It's weird, I've generally heard good things about Thermaltake, but this product sucks, and I've wasted money.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please contact our customer service dept so that we can replace that unit for you.

Thank you!

1 out of 5 eggsWorks well (sort of)

Pros: When I am running most things, this power supplies does what is expected, runs my PC.

Cons: This power supply puts off a high pitch squealing noise, which it has done since day one at all times when is running, which, if there is sound going on my PC, is not an issue, but when there is nothing going that has sound involved, is VERY annoying and distracting. It also should be able to run without an issue, but when I play any kind of game, my PC shuts off, even after making sure that this is the correct PSU. This could directly correlate with the high pitch squealing, but not exactly sure.

Other Thoughts: Decent for the money, if you don't mind the most obnoxious machine on the face of the earth, and can deal with your PC shutting off.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Ethan,

We apologize for the issues you are having with that power supply. We would like to replace that unit for you through our warranty service so please contact our customer service so that we can setup an RMA.

5 out of 5 eggspretty good

Pros: great power supply very reliable compared to the one that came with my computer (had to upgrade before I bought a new GPU)

Cons: No cons did not get a DOA power supply

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this power supply at newegg it was at my local best buy for cheaper so I bought it their but it is still a reliable power supply sucks because the one from best buy did not have every cable sleeved only the molex and 24pin cable so I guess someone returned it after they took off the sleeves

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic PSU

Pros: A very solid and well built PSU. Cables are long so that you can easily tuck them away for cable management. The fan automatically throttles up when gaming or using system resource heavy applications but remains relatively quiet overall. Connectors fit on solidly and has support for 8-pin PCI-E video cards.

Cons: None. This is an excellent power supply.

Other Thoughts: This is a solid power supply all the way around. If you're expecting to run 3-way SLI/Crossfire, you should get something with more wattage. But as it stands, this is a perfect PSU for just about any standard system.
