1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't fit standard ATX CASE

Pros: Don't know, I didn't even get it installed

Cons: The holes don't line up and it doesn't have as much power as advertised (per the instructions/data sheet inside) didn't fit, power less than advertised

Other Thoughts: It might work if you had a micro case and low power requirements.

3 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware but it works

Pros: It is the right physical size, and it is the right wattage. This part was needed for a client ASAP so I ordered it overnight and added the rush charge as well. Part came next day as expected. Good job in the shipping department for NewEgg.
EDIT: After booting up without RAM and getting error beeps and then reinserting RAM the system works.

Cons: It does not ship as advertised. The new PS sticker says SL-8250SFX upgraded from AL-8250SFX. I was trying to order the exact replacement for precisely the reason of not getting something that might not work right out of the box. The picture that accompanies the part shows a yellow 20-pin power connector with an additional 4-pin connector. The part I was shipped had a 24-pin connector that was not able to be disassembled. Because I needed it ASAP I could not take the time to RMA. I could not use the part as shipped though because the motherboard had a capacitor right where the extra 4-pins stuck out on the connector. I removed the 4 wires from the Molex connector and insulated the wires I removed. I then used an X-acto knife to cut off the plastic connector so the cable could go on the plug. I would never do this normally but time was of the essence and I am a former F-14 electronics technician in the Navy so I proceeded with the modification. I assembled the system with the modded PS and the power turned on but there was no video. I powered off, reseated all connectors and tried again. Still no video. It had worked previously with a full size Coolmax PS so I tried that. It booted but still no video. Booted with Coolmax without RAM and got an error. Reinserted RAM and it boots up with the Coolmax. Go back to the Allied PS and it will not work.
So not only was the PS shipped not represented correctly on the website but now due to these circumstances I have a modded PS that I am sure I cannot return that does not work.
EDIT: After booting up without RAM and getting error beeps and then reinserting RAM the system works. Not sure why this made it work but it must have something to do with the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I have the client up and running on the Coolmax full size PS. It is jury-rigged but at least they are up until I have time to consult with NewEgg on the problem.
EDIT: Client is now up and running on the modded APEX PS (cut off the last 4 pins with an exacto knife)

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough for me

Pros: Works and arrived as advertised. Seems nice and quiet.

Cons: Can't think of any and as of now, only time will tell. Over 1 month so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a slim HP case that used some weird "L" shaped PSU. This was the only thing I could find that was less than the $70 HP parts store wanted and fitted, mostly. I used cable ties to hold it and there is a 1.5" gap, but OH well, I will just blow out the dust more often.

5 out of 5 eggsNotice: "STX" NOT "ATX"

Pros: works well, no complaints. nuf said.

Cons: ...

Other Thoughts: I was drowsy when I ordered this and I didn't notice the form factor. This PSU is STX not ATX. Totally my fault for ordering the wrong one.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: -Tested good and works well
-Price
-Quiet

Cons: -Size...Not gonna knock an egg off for this as it is my fault for not looking over the dimensions.
-The fan isn't a super long lasting design but I'm putting this in an old dead HP to get it by for a year or two more.

Other Thoughts: A coworker needed vital tax docs off of his old HP for his business and was curious if I could get it running as opposed to taking it the joke of a local shop that charges a fortune to not even fix the problem. I extracted the data first then I ordered this PSU. I was surprised to find that it is quite...small. I need to look a little harder before just clicking that buy button.
I did however buy this because it was cheap and had the exact connections I needed to swap out of the old HP I was raising the from the dead. My buddy didn't care how it looked at all. He was just happy it was running again especially after I cleaned up his OS.

Good buy. Just remember, it's a small form factor lol derp

New PC est.: $400-600 (my cheap solid custom build)
Shoddy PC shop: $300+ for nothing
Me: $20
