5 out of 5 eggsEpic PSU

Pros: Comes in a nice box, well supported for shipping. Nice mirror finish. Installed nicely except the fan grill kinda didn't fit all the way on my Thermal Take Shark case. Handles my Spider System nicely

Cons: i would like to see it modular

1 out of 5 eggsLasted only 1 week

Pros: This unit had just enough power for my system which included an Asus 8800 Ultra graphics card, 4 SATA hd's, 4Gb of RAM, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000, 4 Case fans, and more all on an Asus Crosshair motherboard.

Cons: First off the PSU didn't come with any screws to attach it to the case. Secondly, the SATA cables were to short to reach around my 8800 Ultra graphics card to my hard drives. And finally the kicker- After only a week of use the PSU died.

Other Thoughts: I waited a week to be sure that my PSU was working properly and then sent out my rebate forms (UPC and SN had to be cut from the box). Later that same day was when it died. Therefore I could no longer send it back.

Pros: See Below

Cons: Hard to tell what the pro's are so i'll just list the con's. First, when i got it the psu, the right side of the ac power in plug was sticking out an inch further than the left side, almost like they couldn't get it to fit correctly in the case so they just let it stick out a bit. Second thing was soon as i applied power the thing started blowing capacitors, scared the hell outta me. Then immediately followed by electronics burning. Never really got the chance to try it out.

Other Thoughts: If it would have worked straight out of the box probably would have given it a 3/5 because it didn't fit in my case that well. Also just didn't seem like it was put together very well imo.

5 out of 5 eggsChuck Norris

Pros: Fantastical!! chords are just right. not TOO long. not short. i really apprecaite the 8-pin cpu power cable... others have had 2x4-pin... takes away "the worry".
this is plugged into my ASUS CROSSHAIR mobo, 4gbs of crucial memory, 4 drives (2xraptors in raid 0, other 2 for movies/music/storage) V1 thermaltake HSF, 7900gtx, audigy zs2 sound card, and a video capture card. still have enough cables to add more hardware, but my LARGE case cant hold much more....

Cons: on the heavy side, but i expect this. and a little longer than usual psus but again i expected this. i do wish it had a fan on the bottom for more airflow, but all my sensors show everything is cool.... kicks out a wee bit of heat, but what could u expect??? no "cons" just notes to mention

Other Thoughts: u wont need to upgrade for a LONG TIME, unless Moore's Law effects wattage too soon... which is possible with new dx10 vid cards, and uber enthusists might see this use its full potential, but i wont...
rebate was totally worth the effort, just wish since i droped the cash on this, it came in black or something, but im not complaining... my case is cleare so thats something i get to think about, how things look.

4 out of 5 eggsShort on PCIe Connectors

Pros: I like the fan arrangement - pushes air through, but doesn't have airflow through the bottom of the power supply, so you're not trying to push air through the case frame that supports the power supply.

Cons: You would expect that most people buying 1000W power supplies are looking to use them in SLI configurations. What else do you need 1000W for than two power-sucking graphics cards? Yet there are only 2 PCIe connectors - enough for only one card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellence

Pros: Superb power supply. Not too noisy, and more than happy to powr evrything I have which is... substantial.

Cons: None. It is larger than a regular PSU, but this is not really a "con" as you sort of have to EXPECT a 1000w psu to be bigger.

Other Thoughts: If you wanna run quad-SLI, this is the PSU you need.

4 out of 5 eggsToast

Pros: Cheap. Worked great (for a few days). Seems solid enough. Actually fit in the case with no problems.

Cons: The first one burned up within 5 days of use.

Other Thoughts: We'll see how the RMA process goes. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. If they make good on the RMA I would still buy another one.

5 out of 5 eggsHeckuva Power Supply

Pros: This thing puts out a lot of power, but only so much as is needed at any given time. I've yet to draw its maximum load, and I'm running a system with 2 OC'd dual core Opterons, a 7950GX2, multiple HDDs and Optical drives, lots of fans and peripherals, 8GB RAM. You could power a tank with this thing and it's remarkably quiet. It has internal heat monitoring and turns on fans only as needed.

Cons: None. This thing rocks the box. Costs a lot, but you get what you pay for in PSU's, and if you're building a machine with high power needs, you just gotta do it.

Other Thoughts: Only buy this kind of thing if you anticipate needing a bunch of power. I'm thinking about adding a second 7950GX2 in SLI - I'd basically be running two high end systems. If I wasn't building a machine this extreme I wouldn't need this sort of PSU. It's really only for the upper, upper end of PC's.
