3 out of 5 eggsCheap but beware of 480 watt advertisement

Pros: Nice and cheap for low power computer
Work fine as long that you dont draw too much power from it

Cons: The Power supply design is quite old
Very far from real 480 watt, Only 16 Amp on 12V rail!
Only 2 SATA connector
No Over/Under Voltage, No Over Current protection

Other Thoughts: I have build 3-4 low power computers with this PSU and they work fine. Better to use a lower wattage CPU. Not a good idea if you plan overclock and/or use an AMD CPU that draw a lots of power. If you need to connect a video card with PCI-E connector avoid like pox. 16 Amp at ~70-75% effiency is only about 135 watt.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent CHEAP power supply

Pros: Purchased 2 units in 2008 and they are still going strong as replacements for original OEM [HP] units. One machine is still in my possession and the other was gifted to a friend recently for his daughter.

Cons: NONE - considering the price

Other Thoughts: Works as expected with arguably light loading

3 out of 5 eggsOK for old computers

Pros: * Cheap
* Has -5V for ISA cards

Cons: * Cheap wiring
* Cable lengths are kind of short, but OK for a mid ATX tower
* 20/24 Pin cable is not "wrapped" so there is a birds nest of wires looming out of it.

Other Thoughts: This is an OK solution to for using an old Pentium 2 or Pentium 3 box. The wiring is cheap. You can see the connectors floating around loosely in the plastic housing. This caused a problem with one my HDDs not getting the full 12 volts and I had to wiggle the cable.

-5 Volt is claimed, which is important for some old ISA sound cards not sure if it really outputs -5 I haven't tested this yet.

Cons: got smelly and I assumed that its not capable, not as much as 480w

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Extremely noisy after a few months of use.

Other Thoughts: This power supply came with an IBuyPower computer we purchased a couple of years ago. We referred to this computer as "the airplane" for the incredible noise it made. The computer was worth the 500 dollars we paid for it. But for a few dollars more you can get a much better PSU. We finally replaced it with a Corsair we paid 35 dollars for and the computer is now running smooth. These are the best 20 dollars I ever invested in a system!

5 out of 5 eggsPS480D2 480W

Pros: The LOGISYS PS480D2 480W is you very basic cheap PSU by no means it is a true 480 w I have purchased more that 5 of these over the last few years for customers and there are still going, but they are only 200 watt systems,

Cons: There is none at the price piont, if use for basic lowend computers. cheap PSU for cheap computers

Other Thoughts: Yeah, only use this for a basic pc,I would not use if you have a really nice video card, This id for the most basic low end computers.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: It worked for 4 months?

Cons: One of the fans started howling and grinding after 50 hours of use. (ran on Sundays for 2.5 hours)

Other Thoughts: Instead of returning a super cheap power supply I opened it up and replaced the fan with an old used one. Problem solved.

1 out of 5 eggsIt had a good life...but it was too short

Pros: Power supply was inexpensive and did its job well.

Cons: I expected way more lifetime out of this unit. It lasted almost to the day 2 years. In addition, the SATA connectors were not long enough even for a Mid tower case.

Other Thoughts: I wish I would have spent a little more money upfront to not be going through this now.

5 out of 5 eggsGood solid choice for low power system

Pros: I used to build and sell systems. 1. I have bought a dozen of these and never has one been DOA. I can't say that about the most expensive power supplies on the market. 2. These are quiet reliable power for systems with 100 W or less CPU and 80 W or less GPU power demands.

Cons: Back in the good old days, power supplies had a reset. If the 120 V incoming power spiked, the PS tripped and could be reset. The first time that one of these died due to an obvious power surge (all of the lights in the house surged), I called the factory rep and he basically said that there was surge protection, but it could not be reset (toss it out). I do remember that in the good old days the power supplies cost twice as many 1990 dollars than this PS costs today.

Other Thoughts: The twin fans are ideal for AMD processor rigs.

4 out of 5 eggsHella noisy

Pros: Works

Cons: Very noisy. Even with good air flow and low usage.

Other Thoughts: Worked for me in my Dell Dimension 2400 (from 2003) when i upgraded to an EVGA GeForce 6200 512MB (got "bottle-necked" with the 2.66Ghz Pentium 4 but oh well. Not relevant)
