5 out of 5 eggsInexpencive Works Great

Pros: All pros, I have found that the Newegg power supply calculator to be a verry useful tool if newegg would have a link to it when someone buys a motherboard I bet it would cut their MB returns in half. As long as Newegg keeps the calculator honest I will use it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Now lets see if it stands the test of time

5 out of 5 eggsGood, cheap power supply.

Pros: Nice, small form factor to replace standard PS units like in a Dell or other cookie-cutter PC. 120mm fan very quiet. Good power output. I bought this to replace a 250w unit in an older HP dx2250 that I use for Linux on my desk. Recently, I purchased a GT640 card for it and was experiencing occasional screen "blanks." I narrowed it down to the PS unit since EVGA recommended 350-watt minimum for that card. Seems to have fixed the problem. I've also noticed CPU temps dropping by about 1 degree on average. I'm sure this has to do with the better fan.

Cons: One nit to pick. The ATX connector clip did not full seat onto the connector on my MoBo. Not sure if this is a flaw in the motherboard from HP (a re-badged MSI) or the connector on the PS unit itself. It seems to be working, but the connection is not really positive and I'd feel better about it latching. If I were providing this to a customer, I would have to err on the side of not using this particular PS unit.

Other Thoughts: I've been working in/around/on PC's since the early 90's. This is NOT a PS to be used in your gaming rig. It's best served by using it to replace a box-stock minimum PS you'd find in any of the clone PC's you'd get from Dell, HP, Wal-Mart, etc.

1 out of 5 eggsJust Pass

Pros: It's cheap, and seems like it might be a nice product if it worked. Has a lot of attention to detail (cable shroud, etc.)

Cons: IT'S CHEAP. I ordered one on A-nother site to get the overnight shipping cheap since my buddy's gaming rig's PSU failed out. I installed it just like any other power supply and he was all set. Except, he wasn't. The first one of these Logisys PSUs failed out after about 6 hours of light use (no gaming, just web surfing and email). I got a RMA and the replacement one showed up soon after. The second one would not even post; it simply "clicked" internally once whenever you attempted to flip the power switch on his machine. Worthless, worthless quailty control. Two units in a row; one DOA and one practically DOA. I wouldn't save the couple dollars on this Logisys supply. Go get something with a little more build quality to it. Remember, your PSU is a MISSION CRITICAL component to your PC and having a cheap one can be a recipe for disaster when it takes a graphics card or motherboard with it in its death throws. We just needed to get my buddy something cheap right now to hold him over, and this did not help us out. Oh, and the gaming rig that he's using is a custom build we put together for him on the cheap, with a maximum draw of less than 380w at full load. This PSU says its rated for a max of 550w and a CONTINUOUS LOAD OF 400W, so it should have at least run his system up and held him over for awhile until he could afford to get something nicer.

Other Thoughts: Too few SATA connectors.
Not really rated at 550w; rated at 400w continuous load.
Two DOA units in a row; no quality control.
This was my first time trying a Logisys product. I won't do that again! When you're buying a PSU, be sure to check out hardwaresecrets.com to see if the manufacturer is really selling you what it says on the label. It can save you a lot of heartache.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk, stay away

Pros: Low cost
Quiet
8-pin motherboard connector
6-pin graphics card connector
Decent amount of molex/sata plugs.

Cons: It doesn't work very well.
The first time I installed this in my system and hit the power button, it wouldn't boot. It came on for a second, then shut off about 4 times before finally booting up. This computer is on most of the time, after 2 days of running, it just shut off on me without warning. Trying to boot up just yields a loop of power lights coming on, then resetting.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and equipment, buy a quality power supply.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective product

Pros: Cheap, quieter than its replacement

Cons: This power supply failed in 15 days. It suddenly stopped working and would not power up. I do not have time to find out why. I just removed it and installed the old, noisier power supply rated at 380 watts. Normally I do not bother to obtain a replacement, and would get a better power supply, but I am just curious if this is a n isolated problem. If the replacement fails too, I will then escalate it to the manufacturer to get their act together.

4 out of 5 eggsLighten up people

Pros: Cheap PSU that will work for most computers. has most important connections needed. Better than most computer manufacturers PSU ill say that. When I customer brings me there cheap dell or emachine and need a PSU... it works out just fine.

Cons: Wouldn't use for a gaming system.

Other Thoughts: These negative comments seem to be pretty amateur'ish. After fixing computers for the last 13+ years. I will say that PSU's die all the time one of the most common computer parts to fail. These people building 800 dollar custom pc's and using this power supply are stupid anyways. complaining bout the noise is makes after six months or a year. how bout cleaning your pc out once a month. most overly negative comments are usually amateur's at best.

3 out of 5 eggsEh, It's okay for the price.

Pros: 1.Cheap, Affordable
2.Good Materials, Sturdy as hell.
3.550w Powers most Mid-Ranged systems.
4.120mm Fan is a Monster.

Cons: 1.ATX 24Pin connector doesn't power motherboard unless 4-Pin is pulled out, Found this quite disturbing, Cheap quality wiring.
2. Only Two SATA Power connections, Computers with alot of Harddrives and/or CD Drives should not get this.
3.Fan is VERY loud than other 120mm fans i've had, Push alot of air but sometimes i feel it's not worth the turbine sound.
4.Makes Hissing noise on Power up, I Assume this has to do with the rails and poor quality from Logisys.
5.The screw holes are a little off, Tested this in several different cases.
6.Not more than 1 Video Card Power connection, So there goes SLI
7. Had to buy a bunch of 4-Pin to Sata Power cables

Other Thoughts: To sum it up, It's an "OKAY" powersupply for the price. I Would not suggest this PSU to people with Gaming rigs, Or Flashing open window systems. This powersupply is good for a regular home computer, Doing regular home things. If your gaming, Etc, Spend the extra money and get something better.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS

Pros: Absolutely none. It's not even cheap for what it is.

Cons: Where do I even start? Ok the unit died within a month because my motherboard was drawing too much power. And by too much I mean about 280w max. Even though it says it's a 550w unit its probably at best a ~250w piece of garbage. I'm just happy that it does without setting my house on fire.

Other Thoughts: Please for your own good stay away from this brand. Don't do the same mistake I did and cheap out on your power supply.
