Great Performance for a drive geared towards power consumption

Cons: None that i can give right now

Other Thoughts: Have the drive installed in an external rosewill case and it is only slightly warm to the touch. Have formatted the drive with truecrypt (using twofish encryption) and its working very good with good perfomance. I definetely would buy another one.

Cons: screws that releases seem like they could strip easily

Other Thoughts: Can't ask for more for the price. For $30 shipped is an awesome deal. Like i said above the two screws you use to take apart the system seem like they would strip easily. I have a WD 1TB Green and the unit and it works perfectly without getting to hot. I would be interesting how hot a more performance oriented drive would get like the WD black or WD Raptor

Pros: semi-cheap

Cons: doesn't work. Tech support was no help at all. Their solution was "try a PC" and "not hot swappable". I had to return the case cause it was defective. I never got it to work usb or eSata.

Pros: Very fast, slim case, fan built in with option to turn on and off. Very quiet and fas transfers.Comes with everithing you need.

Cons: Usb cable have to be black.

Pros: Easy Assembly, All parts were present and unit feels very sturdy.

Fired up right away with my 80GB Maxtor SATA.

USB and eSATA connectors (when both connected XP used eSATA only)

Cooling fan is a plus, and works well.

Stand is perfect.

Cons: On power-button pushed it takes a moment before it is recognized, but this may be due to my old Maxtor taking a moment to spin up. This makes BIOS recognition on boot-up a hit/miss on occasion.

Cooling fan is a little noisy. I don't mean like a jet taking off, but I can tell when it's on compared to my case fans. (2x180mm and 1x120mm on Xclio case)

Cooling fan is necessary! My old Maxtor makes the CLANK of death very frequently when the cooling fan is off. Again, my Maxtor was replaced for a reason though, but I was curious that this made such a big difference.

Hot-plug eSATA in XP-64 SP2 is just fine. Hot-plug eSATA in Ubuntu 8.04.2 not so much. I know this is due to kernel limitations, not really the unit's fault. Hot-plug USB works great on both OSs.

Other Thoughts: This unit certainly impressed me. Rosewill is hit and miss, but this Drive Enclosure is a big hit.

If you plan on using this enclosure to backup your /home directory or other documents it's perfect. I have used the drive for a torrent storage for a year and the constant reads and writes went off without a hitch.

Playing games off the drive was certainly possible but USB gaming isn't exactly quick with any enclosure or drive. eSATA seemed much faster (non-scientific).

Even with the cooling fan noise I highly recommend it.

Pros: Sata & usb 2.0 connection with extensive list of cable and extra equipment everything nice and sturdy.

Cons: Nothing some people dont like the looks I think it looks fine.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive never really gets hot but nice to know theres a small fan if I ever need it also like all the little things like theres a switch for fan and drive and the light isn't too bright dosent light up entire room.

Pros: Works great. Took a bit of force to get the outside screws off at first but that's fine. Drive fit into it well. The Esata cable and bracket was a great throw in as well. No overheating issues after having a caviar 1TB in it on constant for several hours. The on/off switch for the fan is a nice feature as well.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: great enclourse. Very easy to install the HDD into it. It came damaged, but that doesn't change the operation of it. It makes very little noise while operating. Again Newegg is the fastes with shipping what they sell

Other Thoughts: I've gotten cheaper, but not the same quality.

Pros: Has a fan that works with an on off switch. Unit has an on off switch.

Cons: The front face plate is held on by two slivers of plastic. My front face plate fell off out of the box. The thing still works and I could super glue it back together but I'd rather RMA. Newegg customer support rocks as always.

Other Thoughts: My advice get the ten dollar more expensive one made by the same company it looks rock solid and has all the features of this plus more airflow.

Pros: ALL around good value. if your wanting a 500.00 case then buy one execellent deal here would recommend it!!! Very easy intallation of drive unit. XP seen it right away and was able to format immediatly. very nice xfer of files very quick and neat. nice job Roswell! newegg delivered on time. and was very nice would do again!

Cons: cheapsters looking for more than what it is!
