5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I wanted

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: -Had everything I needed.
-Was Exactly as described.
-Installation was quick and simple.

Cons: On my end:
-Power port ended up behind part of my back wall. My case was designed by and for HP and their specific set up so not Rosewills' fault.

Their end:
-The cables and their sheathing are very thick. Not sure if this is specific to this product or power supplies in general but they get in the way in my smallish case.

Other Thoughts: I ended up deciding on this specific power supply mostly because of the duel fans. My current case is kind of small and designed for one specific build so I don't have much room to work with. This meant that having an extra fan on the power supply in theory should help out the rest of the case.
All in all, the power supply seems great.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Been using as replacement supplies for an Optiplex desktop to get enough power on the 3.3V line to support PCI cards. Did not want too much wattage as that can lead to too much heat which the Optiplex may not be able to handle.

This supply is a great low-cost supply to upgrade to middle level power capacity.

If you are looking for a supply for a gaming rig with a monster video card, then you will want a supply with plenty of amperage available on the 12V lines, and a total wattage >= 600W.

Cons: None really.

1 out of 5 eggsPSU Failed just after warranty expired

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Cheap. It worked well while it lasted.

Cons: Three weeks after the warranty expired, it failed. It sounded like fireworks, and my machine was suddenly off. I removed the psu from the machine to find a green capacitor cap fall out of it.

Other Thoughts: I original thought it was still under warranty. Tech support was very courteous, but informed me it was just out of warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Great litle PSU at a great price.

Other Thoughts: Used it on a build for a friend and he hasnt had a single issue running it on these parts:
G3220 Pentium CPU
Stock Cooler
M-ATX ASUS 1150 Mobo
GTS 450 PNY GPU
250GB HDD
4 Case Fans
8GB (2x4GB) Ram

3 out of 5 eggsIt worked fine for about 2 1/2 months.

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: -It wasn't incredibly loud
-Nice sleek black design
-Plenty of SATA cables

Cons: - 2 1/2 MONTHS!

2 1/2 MONTHS! 40$!

Other Thoughts: I used my HT/Gaming PC on occasion, as I would usually be at work/school. I frequently kept it off. One morning while getting ready for school, I needed to check on a website for some information. When I pressed the power button, nothing came on. I switched power cables and made sure everything was plugged it. It still didn't work so I waited to troubleshoot it in the afternoon. When I hooked up another PSU, it worked.

I expected a 40 dollar PSU to last longer than that, especially coming from Rosewill.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Cheap power supply.

Cons: Died after 1 month of heavy use. Will not recommend for gaming even if its a low end system.

Other Thoughts: Look for trusted brands, never overlook a power supply as it could take down other important components as well.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PowerSupply

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Good power supply. It does what it supposed to do.
Silent.

Cons: 8 pin cable is short if you have bottom PS case layout. So you need extension 8 pin power cable

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for the money

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: I have used this in two builds, and it is still going strong. I took a chance on Rosewill and I am happy I did.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I will need to upgrade soon due to upgrading my Graphics card again, it will probably be a Rosewill.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat I needed

This review is from: Rosewill RD400-2-DB – 400-Watt ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Quiet

Cons: Not modular.

Other Thoughts: Works for what I needed on my fathers older Dell. A replacement 375w from Dell was going to cost him $100. I was able to get this to fit in the Dell case with a little creativity and it works just as good for a fraction of the cost. I would recommend to anyone needing a basic PSU replacement.
