5 out of 5 eggsBest PS I've ever bought!

Pros: The sleeve(s) are on the proper cables. For the RPM of the fans, and how cool it keeps the power supply... it sure does run quiet. It has been through ALOT and is still holding anything I plug it into!

I've owned and used this PS in the same system for 4 years now!

Cons: When you remove the fan grill, the fan comes loose and sort-a falls *into* the power supply. The screws that hold the grill on, are also the same screws that holds the fans on that are inside the PS.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU, lasted long enough.

Pros: Powered my rig for almost four years. Never gave any issues, always powered on when needed.

Cons: The fan control is a little lame. Never changed it nor did I see a reason to crawl back there and do so. Only lasted 9 months after the warranty expired.

Other Thoughts: Today it died - came home to my computer which is normally asleep, and today it was off. Turned it on after unplugging/replugging it in and it came on fine. About 15m later while using the computer it just powered off with a strong burning smell. Opening it up (warranty already expired) revealed five bulging capacitors. I'm not convinced that these bulging would have caused a burning smell although I've examined the circuit and found nothing. If these have been bulging for a while, then that would explain my ongoing issue with performance (FPS issues in games, isolated to PSU/CPU/Mobo/RAM)

3 out of 5 eggsProblems after warranty ended

Pros: See Other Thoughts

Worked well while it was under warranty

Cons: See Other Thoughts

Serious malfunctions after warranty ended

Other Thoughts: I bought this back in 2009. Worked well until a few month ago.

My system would be super fickle about booting. I'd have to play with it for a while. Eventually, this got worse and worse and worse until I was afraid to turn it off or restart as it wouldn't boot.

I replaced this with a Corsair 600 Watt PSU and the booting problems went away.

Too bad it's off warranty so I can't do anything about it.

4 out of 5 eggsLasted 3.5 years

Pros: Worked as expected for 3.5 years of gaming. The blue led in the fan was nice.

Cons: It was the first thing to die from my build, so it gets 4 stars.
I didn't observe any of the power surges or sparks that others have mentioned. Just came downstairs, computer wouldn't turn on.
Tried jumping the power supply, no luck. Also tested case switch with volt meter (tested resistance reading with switch pressed down) which was still working.

4 out of 5 eggswell winded for the price

Pros: well, i have had this power supply for quite a long time, and it finally decided to kick the bucket in the tail end of 2012
it did not sputter or give any warning that i was going to fail, but there was a burst capacitor, and m glad it didnt take anything with it.
+awesome blue fans to match my build
+quiet if you leave it on auto

Cons: it died after three years, my new power supply is rated for 5 years, we will see how that goes

Other Thoughts: current build:
Phenom 9950 qaud core black addition oc'd to 3.2
8gb of reaper series memory
BFG 260 gtx maxcore oc+
squished together on an ASUS m4a78 plus board
yes i need an upgrade

2 out of 5 eggsRosewill explosion

Pros: * It was cheap

* It worked out of the box.

Cons: * It was noisy.

* It blew up after 3.5 years

Other Thoughts: I bought this from Newegg in February 2009, because I wanted a power supply that was quieter than the junk power supply that I had.

I put it on the "Automatic speed" setting, hoping for the right balance of cool and quiet. Unfortunately, it was as loud as the junk power supply that it replaced.

I kept it and used it, because it was no worse than what it replaced, and it had higher wattage ratings.

All was pretty good until about 10 days ago, when it went "BANG" and blew up in my computer case, and shot out lighting bolts, and filled the room with smoke.

Luckily, it did not trash my system. Everything still works (except the power supply).

I replaced it with a Seasonic (from Newegg). I can't believe how QUIET the Seasonic power supply is. I love the acoustics of my PC now.

I'd recommend avoiding Rosewill power supplies -- looking at all the reviews, they seem to have a tendency to explode and shoot lighting when they get to a certain point.

1 out of 5 eggsKilled my Mobo

Pros: Worked fine for 2.5 years.

Cons: After having it for 2.5 years, it began to surge my entire system. The fans and lights would ramp up and down until I was able to kill the power. When I replaced the power supply I realized that this one had killed my motherboard.
