No, this unit is not modular. All cables are permanent in the unit. there are plenty of cables and you'll have extras hanging out in your PC to deal with...but it works great plenty of power no problems

I am not quite sure what is being described as a "20 + 4" pin  main power  connector.  I want to hook up to a legacy Intel Mobo with a 20-pin main Mobo connector + a separate 4-pin CPU power connector.  Will this Rosewill "20+4" set-up work for what I need?  I can't get a clear pic of the cabling from the website. TIA.   ~ John S.

Most newer motherboards require a 24 pinn connector, but like yours some require the 20 pin, basically its a 20 pin connector with a 4 pin connected to it but they are separate. If you plug both in it supplies a 24 pin connector, if yours requires 20 pin you just plug the main 20 pin connector in and it works fine.

Hi will this fit my hp pavilion a6700y?

Looking up the Pavilion series online it looks like they take standard size power supplies so this will fit. Several OEM vendors use smaller sized power supplies that are difficult to replace so to be on the safe side I would recommend opening the case and taking a look. The dimensions of this power supply are 5.91" x 3.39" x 6.42" and it mounts with 4 screws from the outside of the case.

Is this psu fine for an I7 4770k with 16gb ddr3 1600mhz aData,a 2tb HDD, a 120gb SSD, and a geforce 780? thanks!

I have a similar setup plugged into a Rosewill outlet plug power monitor. With a 4770 (not 4770k), SSD, three internal HDD, Nvidia 660, 16GB DDR3, 1080 LCD, and my router and modem plugged in, I ran 3DMark while encoding a DVD with Handbrake. Power consumption peaked at about 310W.

No, it's a non-modular PSU ...That being said it's still a great PSU, and as long as your case has decent wire management, the extra cables shouldn't be an issue.

Could this handle two 970s? My CPU is just a 4770, not the K version.

If you search the interwebs for a computer wattage calculator, you can answer this question easily. But yes, it's "likely" fine.

I have this running with a MSI 970 and it works beautifully. I was thinking about getting another one and running it in SLI, would this be enough to run two of them? Or would I need a better PSU?

It would be enough to power just two cards for sure... With that being said, I don't feel comfortable telling you to buy it without knowing all of the components in your PC. I would imagine you have plenty power left over for a second GPU, but it would not leave you a lot of room to upgrade.  If you plan on updating parts again in the near future, and have the extra cash now, I would recommend buying a 850W-1000W.  It is all up to you, if you do not have an abnormal amount of HDDs/SSDs or peripheral devices I would say you are good to buy your second GPU.

so how many sata, 8 pins, and 6 pins does this have?  Just got a new gtx 580 and can't power it as it is. thanks

It has four 6-pins with two 2-pin add ons. So you could use all four as 6-pins, or two as 6-pins and two as 8-pins. You'll be able to power your GTX 580 just fine with this. It has 8 SATA power connectors. If you want the inside to look nice, make sure your case has good cable management, because you'll probably have a lot of unused connectors lying about inside the case.

Yes, it will.  As noted on the Specifications page, this model comes with four PCI Express 6+2 power connectors, so one connector can be used with all eight pins and another with the original six pins to power your Asus card.

How long are the molex and PCI-E cables? (I need a PSU with really long ones)

I'd go with a corsair then.  Cables on rosewill models are shorter.  I had a difficult time reaching cpu power in a large case with this psu.
