In today's power hungry world you need a PSU that can deliver, and the Rosewill RD500-2SB does. With 500W of total output power there's plenty of juice for the most demanding situations. Dual 12V rails with 31 amps of power provide plenty of independent, reliable power.
As in all cases, being well connected is of major importance, and sprouting from the housing are a multitude of mesh wrapped cables to connect all your components. The mesh wrapping keeps things neat and helps to promote better airflow and cooling. Universal motherboard connectivity is ensured with the 20+4 main connector and 4/8 pin EPS connector.
All these are enclosed in a flat black housing with multitudinous ventilation holes and a 120mm cooling fan. The smart temperature sensor intelligently adjusts the fan speed according to the system temperature for minimized operation noise. For an added bit of style, the fans are equipped with blue LEDs for an otherworldly look when operating.
Pros: great amount of power nice looks w/ my powmax matrix atx case w/ blue & red LED's andhold up nice w/ an oc'ed 3.0ghz processor, 2 gigs pc3200 oc'ed ram 2 hdd's 512mb 7950gt
Cons: at first i was scared that the thing didn't fit my case but i think either it or my case fit it in upside down also i noticed that the add said 500 watts but the PSU actually said 480 watt not really a con-just a thought
Other Thoughts: make sure you kno how much power your comp. needs b/c it can be very hit or miss but for the mid-ranged gamer like me this is a great buy for both pci-e and agp
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your valuable feedback. After checking this product, we found that the label might be the cause of your confusion.
RD500-2SB is a 500W power supply. If you check on the label with the power output reading, you should be able to find there are 2 wattages output numbers also listed on the label other than 480W and they are 9.6W from -12V and 12.5W from +5V. Once you add up these numbers with 480W, the total output wattages for this power supply comes to 502.1W. The correct calculation is 480W+9.6W+12.5W=502.1W.

Pros: Did it's job flawlessly, seems well built. Price was quite reasonable.
Cons: Died yesterday, purchased 8/22/2008. Just out of warranty. Lovely.
Other Thoughts: Seems to have lost power on the 12v rail. Was using it daily on a 3.4 P4, P5N32-SLI, 1x7600GT, 80 Gig Sata drive. No particular reason for it to decease. I guess these things just happen. It was a good PSU while it lasted.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: It has worked for over a year and is near silent. Powered: 2 HDDs, 1.8GHz C2D @ 2.8, 4GB ram, 8800GT w/ Gigabyte S3 motherboard. Nice blue LED light. Moderate weight. Wrapped cables.
Cons: When I first got it, I noticed a high frequency whine. I either got used to it or it has since gone away. Cables are a tad short but worked in my Antec 500 case. Amps on the 12v rail dont inspire much confidence on modern video cards, but I suppose you cant fault its specs.
Other Thoughts: I will be powering a radeon 5850 soon. Yes.. I know its pushing it. After reading all negative reviews of this PSU, I have noticed that this PSU just dies when it fails. It does not seem to take other parts with it, so it seems Rosewill did somethings right with the design. Hopefully I wont be the unlucky one.
