Great Value
- Pros: Great Price, Easy Assembly, Power Switch, Silent, Low Profile
- Cons: Thin Power Cord, No Fan
- Other Thoughts: I bought this in a pinch after the power supply failed on my WD external drive. Assembly took about 5 min. I've had it just over a month and it works perfectly. My only concerns are the lack of a fan and a thin power cord but those haven't been an issue.
Good little case
- Pros: Compact, easy to work with and setup. Fast, OS10, XP and Windows 7 have no problems recognizing the drive. Power block is very small as compared to other drives, not a heavy brick style and has a long power cord .
- Cons: Screws can be tricky on chasis, ok if you're careful though.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this case hoping to run a problem drive in it-one from a mac-that had taken a dump. The drive fired up and I was able to retrieve the data off the dying drive. Note though as others have stated this case doesn't have a cooling fan and if you have a hot drive you may have to be "creative" when it come to keeping it cool. I ran the drive with the case off and a fan blowing on it, worked well. The case is now happily back on with another drive installed.
Well, It WAS Good...
- Pros: It's pretty.
- Cons: It's a paperweight. It worked fine for two months, including today. I restored some files from one PC onto my drive, took it to another PC, and nothing. Dead USB. Good thing it was recorded TV and not a term paper.
- Other Thoughts: Before today I would've sung this things praises. Now, I'm not so sure.
