BlacX without the bad rebate
- Pros: Well engineered, built to last, well placed on/off switch, easy to remove the drive, substantial weight. I have tried many of these and found some too light and some play for keeps with the drive or hardly hold the drive at all. This is just right.
- Cons: Short power cable. If you use anything but a newer cool-running drive aim a fan at the drive as hot drives get hot even in the open air. No problem using WD or Samsung 5400rpm drives, I would have no problem leaving them on this all day.
- Other Thoughts: This is identical to the Thermaltake BlacX without the expensive name, thankfully it was also without the Thermaltake rebates which I have had one declined due to postal error and one just lost and no chance of resubmission. Get this and be done.

- Other Thoughts: I have 4 external hard drive kits this is the only Rosewill model i have but wont be the last!! I will be using this one on my Direct tv Box as a "dvr" hard drive kit and use another dock on my downstairs box, so if i record upstairs and want to watch downstairs it's just a button push away instead of disconnecting wires etc.... Also i installed W7 beta with dock and a hard drive i have, which I'm using now to right this review... Got this with a combo...... Soon as i can I'm getting another one these....This is the best built dock or external kit i have ever owned, and as I've said this is my 4th, my other dock and 2 kits are also good but this one just seems to be designed to be better!
