1 out of 5 eggsPower connector stopped working.

Pros: Nice lights

Cons: Power connector at the end of one of the two SATA cables stopped working.

- Initial purchase and ACHI build – October 2012

- I started experiencing both blue screen issues and random restarts in January 2015 – PC could not find my boot drive.

- Rebuilt my system in February – new board, chip, two new drives and reinstalled the OS. Also tested ACHI vs IDE BIOS configurations. Same issues post rebuild.

- Then, several drives reinstalled in an external enclosure. Again, issue continued.

- Rearranged drive configuration, i.e. changed drive positioning on power supply cables. Checked BIOS and noticed the drive attached to the end connector was not appearing. Initially, the boot drive was in this position.

- Removed another drive and tested theory, i.e. no drives attached to this connector. No issues since Spring. Problem solved.

Conclusion - defective connector on SATA cable. Lots of aggravation and time wasted troubleshooting a cheap cable. Definitely a 1st. Nothing extensive. Simply cheap cables.

Other Thoughts: Can't believe a connector stopped working. In decades of PC building, I never experienced this before.

5 out of 5 eggsHad this for 5 years now...

Pros: Bought one of these back in 2010, still using it today.
No problem running my setup:
i7 870 2.93Ghz @ 4.2Ghz
2x 560ti gtx (SLI)
16 Gb RAM
3 hard drives
X-fi titanium

Cons: Not really a con (pro)

Had a few instances where it would immediately shutdown when starting the system, split second on/off cycle. Every case was caused by an electrical problem within the system (motherboard needed to be replaced / fan wire had been cut by pci card and was exposed). Frustrating to deal with, but the protections built in to this PSU have saved me a few times.

Other Thoughts: A lot of the low reviews mention that it was DOA / failed within months, saying it turns off as soon as it's starts. My personal experience is that the PSU is doing its job protecting the system.

5 out of 5 eggsEven without the lights this power supply is the best!

Pros: Plenty of cables
Lights up

Cons: Unfortunately, this power supply can not perform magic tricks for you

Other Thoughts: I actually didn't get this power supply for the lights, I got it for its efficiency and safety. It comes with PLENTY of cables for regular computer builds, and has a good manual. I would suggest getting an extra surge protector (power strip) to plug the PSU into that way you eliminate even more risk. So far the PSU hasn't had any problems, I don't expect it will any time soon.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best PSU. PERIOD.

Pros: 800W
Sleeved Cables
LED effect.
Long cords even for a full tower case.
Neatly packaged with cable bag for extra cables & accessories.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for the price, I would keep getting it.
Used it for my last two builds.
Never failed, never died. Rosewill got it right on these PSUs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply

Pros: I have had no problems thus far with this psu. It has plenty of connections and they were all just long enough to reach my components in a full tower case. You can cover up the extra plugs you don't need and they will not light up when not in use which is actually a good thing. It runs cool and it's 80 plus gold which is nice.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Why do people hate on Rosewill? My previous power supply was Rosewill and I never had any issues with it in the 2 years I used it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Surprised when i opened the box to find a case organizer filled with the cabling, heavy duty wire gauge. You can hear the relays inside click on when there is initial power. Granted these are little pluses however I believe it is a well built unit. Main harness coming out comes with 2x 6-pin connectors, 2x 4-pin CPU connectors and your motherboard power. Modular connectors are fairly solid and snug fit, however i believe a better metal for the screw ins would be be a little more sufficient. I would definitely buy another one given the chance.

Cons: zip.

Other Thoughts: This would be ideal for future upgrades and believe should be bought as a starter item. More then enough connections for your needs.

3 out of 5 eggs2 years of colors

Pros: Easy Cables to work with, plenty of connections to work with in a gaming rig.

Colorful lighting (optional)

Cons: Is dying after 2 years of use. Periodically shuts off at random, leaving one rather irritated. I know this is a thing among power supplies, but I've had many other power supplies last me much longer than this without a hitch.

I do not overclock, and my system requires far less than the 800W this PSU provides. All in all, this makes me a sad panda.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this has been a fair power supply. I'm just disappointed with the lifespan considering the price I paid for it at the time. I had never tried Rosewill before, and depending on the Customer service, may or may not continue with them in the future.
