Pros: words can't describe how awesome this power suply is. it is my first, and will probibly going to be my last. no problems what so ever. has never given me any problems, and its modular so you cant go wrong from there. i have had this power supply for over 3 years i think and it is still going strong. well worth the price

Pros: Looks great, and it works.

Cons: CORDS!! Way too short!

Other Thoughts: I have this in an Antec 900 and 2 of the cords are TAUNT going into my mobo. Impedes airflow and makes my case look yucky lol.

BAD VOLTAGE - avoid at all costs.

Pros: It can deliver its rated wattage, apparently--haven't tested it myself. Not that it will do you much good.

Cons: Terrible voltage instability. A client got a computer with this PSU from an online custom computer company. Shortly after purchase he started getting severe graphics artifacting; GPU was replaced under warranty. Then he started suffering other issues, and came to us. We traced it back to bad memory, but mainly this PSU. In BIOS, with essentially no load, this PSU registered 12.46V on the +12V rail. Under load it dipped to ~11.7V. The user didn't have an oscilloscope so I can't confirm my suspicion, but I'd bet money that this PSU has terrible ripple and noise control, especially on the +12V rail. This is confirmed by other reviews for this product. This bad voltage control is what caused the user's GPU to die, and the memory to go faulty. Either he got two unrelated components with hidden manufacturing faults that cause issues similar to that caused by bad voltage, or he just got a bad PSU.

Other Thoughts: RAM is one of the most voltage-sensitive parts in a computer; a bit too much at the wrong time can ruin it. Memory issues can be like a "canary in the mineshaft" for a dying or shoddy power supply.

Graphics card VRAM is usually the first component to go due to a bad PSU; probably 80% of the complaints we hear about severe artifacting happen because the user is running a high-end GPU on an underpowered or off-brand power supply (like this one). The other 20% are due to overheating or manufacturing faults. A system memory fault usually takes longer to show up, for some reason, but is also a common symptom. Then eventually the PSU dies (often with a burst of sparks) or the motherboard starts acting up.


The power supply is one of the most essential parts in your system. Make sure you pick a good one. The Corsair TX850W, HX850W, SeaSonic S12D 850W, PC Power and Cooling 910W, CoolerMaster Real Power Pro 850W, and Thermaltake Toughpower 850W units are all better units with good volt
