Power packed to the core, the ENERMAX Infiniti EIN650AWT 650W power supply is ideal for the ultra high end multi-GPU gaming system. It's SLI, CrossFire and Quad Core CPU ready, and will add real boost to your beast machine. This modular PSU is designed to deliver maximum power with minimum heat. Instead of a small fan on the back of the unit there is a large 135mm fan on the bottom and the back panel is a minimally obstructive hexagonal mesh interrupted only by the power connector and switch.

The modular design makes cable management easier. The main power cables are permanently attached while all of the peripheral cables all plug into the back of the PSU. To make installation easier the PCIe cables are color coded. The cables are all wrapped in mesh for a cleaner installation.

Triple +12V rails ensure a balanced power output for your system no matter what the load. Actually, this EIN650AWT supports dual CPUs with quad core, triple graphics cards and up to 18 drivers! With its 80 PLUS Certified, so less energy is wasted as heat or interference, delivering more power to your hungry system!

  • newegg ATX12V and EPS12V Compatible Compatible with the ATX12V and EPS12V standards, the Enermax Infiniti EIN650AWT power supply provides maximum stable power to drive the processors as well as other components for desktop and even sever computer systems.
  • newegg 650W Maximum Power The Enermax Infiniti EIN650AWT power supply provides a maximum power of 650W to deliver safe, reliable output for high-end computer systems. Three industry-leading independent +12v rails are provided for more stable and safer power output.
  • newegg 80 Plus Certified The 80 PLUS certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 80% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg Efficient Cooling A 135mm silent fan plus honey comb cutouts increases overall airflow in the power supply enclosure and helps remove heat from the chassis simultaneously.
  • newegg Modular Cable Design The modular cable design allows use of only the cables you need resulting in improved internal airflow and reduced system clutter.
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Certified The Enermax Infiniti EIN650AWT power supply has gone through a series of rigorous NVIDIA SLI certification tests for maximum system stability when building NVIDIA SLI PCs.

4 out of 5 eggsEgg on My Face

Pros: Doing what it is supposed to do. I complained earlier about missing adapters. They weren't missing, just very hard to connect. It took a lot, lot more pressure to snap them in place (into the power supply) than I expected.

Cons: The manual left a lot to be desired, that's why the four eggs.

Other Thoughts: I may give it five eggs if it holds up and once I forget my panic. My first build, what can I say.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Hard to say when you can't connect it.

Cons: I bought an Enermax Infiniti EIN650AWT and case several months ago for a build that I put on hold because new tech was coming out. I ended up going for an X58 build. Since the power connectors didn't look right, I asked Enermax if they would work. I was assured that the correct adapters for the X58 and the GTX 260 came with the power supply. There is also a Santa Claus. So here I sit, with a half built computer, reading reviews wondering if I made a big mistake or Enermax made a little one (however infuriating).

Other Thoughts: I hope this is not a problem with the current Infiniti, but I suggest that you check. Oh right, I did.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so much

Pros: Modular cables, plenty of amps for RAID arrays and fat GPU's

Cons: This perticular one lasted six months.

Other Thoughts: While surfing the net my comp just went black. The power supply was beeping with a red light. I turned off the switch and checked all cables and connections. I powered up to a POP sound and the 2 beeps again. @*&^%% I pulled another PSU of the exact same flavor from my other comp to make sure the MOBO etc. did not get fried too. It has been running fine since. I applied for an RMA from EnerMax and have not heard anything in 28 days. Not good so far. I give it 2 instead of 1 egg because the older unit is still working.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid at all cost

Pros: There are some pros to this PSU, but I'm too angry right now to list any of them. Ok, fine, the CoolGuard is a pretty good idea.

Cons: It fried one APC UPS (1500VA) and just today my motherboard! That's on top of the fact that it's a replaced unit. I bought this thing a few years back for a new system. It worked for a few weeks and then died for no reason. To their credit, Enermax support was decent and they even cross-shipped me a new unit despite that being against their published policy.

After a few months with the replacement, I wake up one morning to find my UPS showing an overload, which seemed very odd. I reset it, but as soon as it is turned on, the overload light is indicated. Long story short, it was dead and APC had to replace it. The other review mentioning a destroyed UPS is spot on, I only wish I knew about it earlier.

I got the replacement UPS a few days back and decided to connect it today. Guess what? As soon as I turned the machine on, UPS went into overload. Thankfully it still seems to be working. What isn't working now is my $300 motherboard. Fried completely - tried another PSU and no life.

Other Thoughts: What's the point of having decent support, as is even indicated by the fact that Enermax monitors these reviews, when the product itself is terrible? The current PSU is working, but there is no way I'm connecting it to anything at this point. Now I need a new motherboard and power supply to get my system back up.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Value Customer,

We recommend using a UPS that have a true sine wave output, modulated or step sine wave UPS is not recommended. This recommendation is also listed in the PSU manual.

Please contact me at 888 778-7878 ext.108 if you have any questions. I might be able to get you something that will work with your APC 1500VA UPS.

Thanks,
Tom

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PSU

Pros: Solid unit while it worked. Quiet, powerful. Great features.

Cons: This 650Watts PSU is good enough for the motherboard's power supply requirements. But if you're planning to use more peripheral devices for your system, then you should take it in consideration.

2 out of 5 eggsgood while it worked

Pros: Solid unit while it worked. Quiet, powerful. Great features.

Cons: Died within six months. Two beeps on startup, red light. Ridiculous. I've had cheap power supplies that lasted a decade, this one lasts six months? when I bought this I was in a hurry and I paid top dollar at a local store, not Newegg (mistake). Read the reviews here. This power supply is not worth buying, many people have dead units.

Other Thoughts: Why risk it? Buy something else.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Nice modular design. Plenty of cables. Plenty of power. Runs cool and quiet. I couldn't ask for anything more in a power supply. One of the very few less than 850 watt supplies that has enough amperage on the 12v rails to power the GeForce 8 series video cards.

Cons: The main connector and CPU connector could be a little longer to accomodate cases with bottom mouting for the supply. Not really a con, so much as an observation.

3 out of 5 eggsMine made it ten months

Pros: Worked perfectly for ten months then woke me up with loud beeping the other night and a dead computer. According to the manual it died by the double beeps and the red light.

Cons: Died.

Other Thoughts: Bought a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W locally and shipped the dead Infiniti 650W back to Enermax in the Thermaltake box. I hope they get a kick out of that! Looks like I will have a nice expensive spare PSU.
