Power packed to the core, the ENERMAX Modu82+ EMD425AWT 425W power supply is ideal for your high end multi-GPU gaming system. It is SLI, CrossFire and Quad Core CPU ready, and will add real boost to your beast machine. This modular PSU is designed to deliver maximum power with minimum heat. Instead of a small fan on the back of the unit, there is a huge cooling fan on the bottom and the back panel is a minimally obstructive hexagonal mesh interrupted only by the power connector and switch.

The modular design makes cable management easier. The main power cables are permanently attached while all of the peripheral cables all plug into the back of the PSU. The cables are all wrapped in mesh for a cleaner installation.

Triple +12V rails ensure a balanced power output for your system no matter what the load. 6+2P (8P) PCI-E connectors is featured for PCI Express 2.0 / DXX next generation graphic cards. Ready for the future, the EMD425AWT features 12Pin modular design for possibly upcoming new CPU's and graphics with 10 or 12Pin connectors. With its 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, so less energy is wasted as heat or interference, delivering more power to your hungry system!

  • newegg ATX12V v2.3 Compatible Compatible with the ATX12V v2.3 standard, the Enermax MODU82+ EMD425AWT power supply provides maximum power stability to drive the processors as well as other system components.
  • newegg 425W Maximum Power The Enermax MODU82+ EMD425AWT power supply provides a maximum power of 425W to deliver safe, reliable output for high-end computer systems. Three industry-leading independent +12v rails are provided for more stable and safer power output.
  • newegg 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified The 80 PLUS BRONZE certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 82% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg 120mm Cooling Fan with SpeedGuard Technology A 120mm cooling fan plus honey comb cutouts increases overall airflow in the power supply enclosure and helps remove heat from the chassis simultaneously. SpeedGuard technology allows the cooling fan to operate at low RPM when the power supply is under 50% load for minimized operating noise.
  • newegg Modular Cable Design The modular cable design allows use of only the cables you need resulting in improved internal airflow and reduced system clutter.

1 out of 5 eggsRebate?!!!!!

Pros: works?

Cons: I bought this just for the rebate. I haven't heard a single thing about getting my rebate money back!!!!! I am still waiting, it's been months!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I bought it at the same time as a video card that had a rebate. I've already gotten the check in the mail but still nothing from this company. If you're buying this because of the rebate.... better look for a different brand.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Value Customer,

Our standard rebate processing time is 10~12 weeks. Have you try contacting our rebate center? If not, please contact them at rebate@enermaxusa.com. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Team Enermax USA

5 out of 5 eggsSolid and quiet

Pros: The best power supply I've ever bought. The cables and connectors are well made and I like the modular approach - so I can use only the cables I need and not havea huge bundle of unused connectors.

Cons: CPU power cord is just about an inch too short so I couldn't run it behind the board like I wanted.

4 out of 5 eggsToo few Cables

Pros: Nice quiet and effiecient. Fan design r.Really helps to keep the case cool.

Cons: Only has one SATA power cord with 3 connections. This is not enough for my 3HDD's and DVD players. For this price there should be more.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected

Pros: protection circuitry

Cons: I tried two of these PSU. One from another store and one from here. Both were emitting a loud electronic noise (capacitors - coils noise) I am not sure, all know it was really loud. Now I am stocked using my old 380w psu till I get my refund.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, Quiet, Modular, Future-Proof

Pros: Excellent quality. Relatively quiet (albeit not totaly so, you need to go fanless for that, but it is not recommended with a small case). Modular cabling is great - you can really make things look much cleaner in your computer.

Cons: None. Really.

Noise level is a bit higher than on a fanless PSU, but in my system the only thing I can really hear is the CPU fan (Zalman), so the Enermax doesn't even figure in the noise quation.

Other Thoughts: I thoroughly recommend this PSU. It works great in my Silverstone case. Now the only thing I need to figure out is a quieter CPU cooling that the current Zalman - with a 75mm height constraint. I think it may be mission impossible.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed!

Pros: The last new psu that I bought was an enermax 431 watt back in 2003. That thing had about 100 feet of wire hanging out the back of it. My whole case was nothing but a rats nest of wires, most of which I wasn't even using.

I built a new computer and opted for this psu. It is great! The cables are pretty short but they reach perfectly where they need to go. No extra wires dangling anywhere. The inside of my case looks very nice now.

Runs very quit. At idle the fan stays at 500rpm. I managed to get it up to 1200rpm playing some games and I still couldn't hear it.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Good stuff!

5 out of 5 eggsworks great with my Ubuntu GNU/Linux build

Pros: nice sleeved cables, no junk cables you are not using helps airflow. 82+ certified pays for its self overtime.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: came with nice cable ties, I had no where on my motherboard to plug in the wire it came with to monitor the Power supply's fan RPMS.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pony Express (UPS) left a package at my front door tonight, so I installed my replacement 425W I I can say it is a very quite PSU. I would not classify it as silent but it is more than quite enough for most applications at this point.

Cons: My first unit was ordered from NewEgg back on April 15. This unit was found to be defective and would power itself off after about 3-5 minutes if that (so far the new one has been up about 20-25 minutes). So at first I took a shot at an RMA with Enermax and sent in an RMA request. I also posted here about my experience so far - and got a fast reply on the forum that I should send in an RMA request (which I was done).

Other Thoughts: The long and the short of it was Enermax fell off the face of the Earth and I got no replies back after multiple emails. So I ended up finally sending an RMA to NewEgg which I feel a little bad about as it clearly was a defective product not a fault of NewEgg.

So on technical merits I can recommend the Enermax Modu82+ 425W, the support side however has me giving a thumbs down. Failing to provide timely support is a killer even if you have a good product.

Very quiet power supply

5 out of 5 eggs
Silent power supply as installed in my system. Have to feel the airflow from the fan in order to confirm that it is running.
