Power packed to the core, the Enermax Galaxy EVO EGX1250EWT 1250W power supply is ideal for your multi-GPU gaming system. It is SLI, CrossFire and Quad Core CPU ready, and will add real boost to your beast machine. This modular PSU is designed to deliver maximum power with minimum heat. Instead of a small fan on the back of the unit, there's a large 135mm fan on the bottom, and the back panel is a minimally obstructive hexagonal mesh interrupted only by the power connector and switch.
The modular design makes cable management easier. The main power cables are permanently attached, while all of the peripheral cables all plug into the back of the PSU. The cables are all wrapped in mesh for a cleaner installation.
Six +12V rails ensure a balanced power output for your system no matter what the load. Dual 6+2P (8P) PCI-E connectors are featured for PCI Express 2.0 / DXX next generation graphic cards. Ready for the future, the EGX1250EWT features four 12P sockets for possibly upcoming new CPU's and graphics with 10 or 12Pin connectors. With its 80 PLUS BRONZE certification, less energy is wasted as heat or interference, delivering more power to your hungry system!

full specs
- Pros: running 3x4870 perfectly. Has only 2x6+2 pin pcie, mb power, and cpu power hard wired. Really very small for being 1248W.
- Cons: 6 rails for power.
It seems to have been put together in a rush. From edges not being flush, to a piece of the plastic I had to push in for it to be fitting correctly. This is the reason for a 4, because later internal connections may start to break down if the internal part of the psu was put together as hastily as the exterior.
- Other Thoughts: First it seems to actually be able to achieve 1400-1500W(maybe higher) for brief periods. It can also maintain up to 70amps (30 max per rail). Third, theres actually one of the 12 pin connections that there is no cable for. Fourth you can upgrade to 4x12 pin pcie power(should that ever becomes the standard), with the purchase of additional cables.
Psu set up: hardwired 24 pin for MB, 8 pin cpu, 2x4 pin cpu, 2x6+2 pcie 4 x 12 pin modular connectors- 3 are used for 2x6+2 pin (6 total modular, 2 additional hard wired), 1 is free for furture upgrades 6 x 5 pin connectors - 4 used for 4xsata (16 sata total) 2 used for 3xeide (6 total, 1 cable has additional floppy power)
So all in all its a great layout without an abundance of hardwired cables. Plus it comes with the added bonus of easily upgrading to the next generation of gpu/cpu/mb (hence the EVO)
It's enermax! What do you expect?
- Pros: Clean pure power. This PSU has enough power to power a spaceship! did a 3 day Prime95 run with no problem with the machine what-so-ever. Throughout my 10 tech years, I have always used enermax. There were a few times where you get bad ones but enermax is quick on remedying the problem.
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: Intel i7 965 @ 4.8ghz with Asus R2E, Blackbird 002 case, 2X 4870X2, 6Gb corsair rams, 6 hard drives totalling 6TB, Complete feser water cooling

Awesome Modular PSU
- Pros: You get what you pay for, quality. Can't believe how nice it is. With 6 rails, I have everything running on it's own rail. Running SLI serious gaming system, and no heat. Love the way the fan keeps running after shut down to clear out any residual heat. My other power unit would stutter start my tornado fans, and somethimes not have the power to get them going at all. Under serious bombing runs I'd even blue screen from lack of power. No more of that with a real total of 1,500w!!! It's stable Clean Power! I researched everything for weeks before I decided on Enermax again. I wanted the 1050, but the prices changed so much that this was almost cheaper with the rebate (that I haven't seen yet, or wonder if I ever will?) It is pricey, but clean power is much more important than people realize. Dirty unstable power just burns components out. True audiofiles know what I'm talking about. The cables that need to be hard wired are, and the ones that need to be modular are just right.
- Cons: Not really a Con. Was missing a modular cable. I got through to the right person after 3 tries and they sent me out 2 cables the next week. Still waiting for the rebate. Would've expected it by now. Instead of jacking the prices up so high and adding a (pain in the rear rebate), wish they'd just sell it for the rebate price! Hate cutting the UPC cose of the box and making it Un-returnable. Rebates are a sick joke. They make it so complcated that half the people probably screw up in some way. It's always a gamble. Especially when it's $50.00 I still gave them 5 stars. My friends each bought ane after seeing it up close. The PSU just isn't the place to skimp. It's the one thing that transfers into the next gamer.
- Other Thoughts: I'd buy it again. Or the 1050w. The cables are as fat as your little finger. You could run a server farm with this monster! Never have to worry about the PSU again. My other one gave me blue screens when under really heavy gaming. Once in a while the fans wouldn't start at start-up. An SLI gaming rig takes way more power than you'd think. After paying a small fortune in the best parts; CPU, MB and Vid cards. The last thing I need is a cheap PSU that puts out unstable dirty power and cuts their life in half and gives me errors. You pay more for this monster. But I see it as insurance and extending the life of my delicate electronics. If I have any problems with my computer. I know I can rule out the PSU. I just feel better knowing I've got the best PSU on the market. Wasn't the place to skimp this time. No more blue screens during bombing runs. Just want my REBATE!
Incompatible with eVGA x58 Classified
- Pros: Well constructed, quiet, ample power and cables
- Cons: Older versions (serial number below 95xxxxx) will not work with eVGA x58 boards
- Other Thoughts: Loved the specs on this psu and was really looking forward to using it in my latest build. However, once assembled, the psu would not boot. Immediately shuts down with a red light indicating some override protection circuit kicked in. After trolling the evga forums for a while, I discovered there is a known issue with this psu and x58 classified mobos. When I went to exchange the psu for a more recent version, NewEgg said they could not guarantee that I would get the corrected version. When I requested an RMA with Enermax directly, they said they were out of stock and would be 3 more weeks. So I ended up just RMA'ing for a refund and went with a Corsair 1000W instead - which is working great.
A high end power supply like this should just work, particularly with high end boards with which it is most likely to be used. Disappointing.
Amazing
- Pros: Simply Amazing. Powers three 9800 GTX+ in SLI. Fan control speed. Scratchless design. Housing is high quality and I just love this PSU.
- Cons: Make sure you have room in your case. This thing is HUGE!!! It takes up the whole bottom portion of my Antec 900 case. Kind of expensive for a 1250 Watt power supply.
