5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Quiet, heavy (well built), sleeved cables.

Cons: The CPU power cable was too short to reach in my Silverstone LC13B-E HTPC case. This case has the power supply mounted on the opposite side of the motherboard from where it would usually be mounted. Most cases have the PSU at the CPU-end of the motherboard. This case mounts the PSU at the other end and the CPU cable was too short.

I don't think that's the fault of the PSU, but it is something to consider. I had to buy an extension cable.

Other Thoughts: Everything else about this PSU is just fine. It isn't the most silent fan in my HTPC, but it's acceptable.

4 out of 5 eggsalmost perfect

Pros: quiet ,sleeved cable managment looked good despite it not being modular gives you just enough for the price

Cons: the pci-e cable was long yet my cpu power cable was to short barely made had to run it behind my gfx card and its blocking my pci slots ordered an extension cable to make it work

Other Thoughts: if you have an atx bottom mounted psu case get the extension for the cpu power or be dissapointed

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet PSU & passive PFC

Pros: This psu is very quiet. It also has passive Power Factor Correction circuitry. That is what I was looking for in my media pc build. My uninterruptible power supply is a Non Sine Wave type and in a power outage the load being transfered to the UPS (conflicting opinions about this) will be more consistant coming from a passive PFC than an active PFC.
If you use a pure sine wave UPS then an active PFC power supply transfers the voltage waveform just fine.

Cons: None really ~ I could see if you had a huge towering pc chassis, then maybe a couple of the cables could be a little short.

Other Thoughts: Perfect PSU for my drum computer build.

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 motherboard
Phenom II AM3 processor
WD Caviar 500GB hard drive
Simplifi Media case with 7" touchscreen
Windows 7 - 64 bit

5 out of 5 eggs4-Pin Power extenstion Easy fix.

Pros: For those who do no know this. You can buy a 12 inch extension for the 4-Pin cpu power here on New Egg for $3.00!!!!! There is no need to cut the cable and splice in thus voiding warranties. There is no need to cut down a good quality product, because you chose to buy something without checking the length of the cables. Especially when there is a easy fix. Please do your Research!!!

Cons: I do not own one.

Other Thoughts: I have bought one of these extensions recently myself. I have not had any issues with using this. Not because cable was too short, but just to convert my 6-pin to 4-pin, due to my 6-pin hitting heat sink hold down that wouldn't allow the 6-pin on my psu to go on straight. Normally the 6-pin will work in this situation. This also gave me a little more length on my too, very short 6-pin cpu feed.

3 out of 5 eggsCPU ATX cables too short

Pros: Good cable options and cable management system (aside from 2x4 ATX cable which was way too short). Good price at $70.

Cons: 2x4 ATX power cables didn't reach the ATX_12V_2X4 slot which was in the upper corner. Same problem another person had it looks like. My PSU is also mounted on the bottom. The cable needs to cross over the vid card and whatever else you have installed in the PSI slots. Mine wouldn't reach even without a video card.

I had to loosely lay the PSU in the bottom of the case and "hang" it from the ATX cable. It is impossible to unplug the power cable witout opening the case since it isn't secured. I can only imagine all the cat hair and dust collecting in the opening already. Looks like i need either an extension or a new PSU.

In all fairness, this is partially due to the case, but I feel the cables should be universal.

Other Thoughts: Warning! Not compatible with:
Case: LIAN LI Lancool PC-K56

5 out of 5 eggsPut my foot in my mouth..

Pros: Exceptional airflow with quiet operation. Just what you want from a power supply. I am confident after over a month of consistent operation, that this will last as long as any comparable unit. I am very satisfied.

Amperage is good for my needs.. but I know I'm a couple of drives or video card away from needing something a bit stronger.

..on a more superfluous level, it matches the black interior of my Super Flower (Kingwin) case - a definite plus for me.

The sleeving very well done. I've had messy factory sleeving in the past, so I know how bad it can be when the manufacturer doesn't care. I can see that Gigabyte cares.

Cons: Cable selection was perfect for what I was building. The power supply was as good as the specifications claimed. I'm trying to think of something, but I honestly have no complaints.

Other Thoughts: This is the first time I've built a computer with the intention of sticking with a particular manufacturer. When I realized Gigabyte sold power supplies, I figured I'd give it a shot and had since been preparing myself for the worst. I'm pleased to say that I had Gigabyte all wrong; I figured they were only good for motherboards.

Foundation of this system:

AMD Athlon II X2 240
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GIGABYTE GV-N96TZL-512I GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3

I think it's really messed up that someone gave this power supply a poor review, even after admitting to voiding their warranty by cutting wires. That's just stupid.

I'd be interested to know if Gigabyte actually manufactures their own power supplies, or if these are rebranded.

I'll be paying more attention to Gigabyte's entire line of products from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great... good price

Pros: I bought this unit because it had all the connections I need.

System: I-920
ASRock X58 Xtreme
ASUS EN9600GSO Video card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro
(2) Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500 GB HD
HP 24X Multiformat DVD burner

For the setup I had, ASRock tech support recommended I use a 700 watt power supply. This one is only 550 watts and it works fine for me, so I was able to save a little money.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Had the computer for about 2 1/2 months so far. No problems powering all the components. Hopefully this will continue to be the case well into the future.
