3rd Time the Charm?

white Reviewed By: Jared on 9/6/2009

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Works great when the PSU LED isn't Red and creating buzzing/zapping noises.
Cons: RMA'd one of these within first 30 days of purchase. And now a few months later I get the exact same problem.. Gaming as per usual then suddenly PC shuts off. See the PSU burning a Red LED instead of the usual amber or green. Reset it by disconnecting it from power and then reconnecting it. LED goes back to amber like normal. Hit the power button on my PC and then the LED goes immediately red while creating a short lived buzzing/zapping noise. Rinse and repeat.
Other Thoughts: I was under the impression SilverStone created top of te line products, but I'm clearly not receiving any. What's the deal?

Worked 30 dminutes

Tech Level Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Plenty of power initially when running an Asus P6T fully equipped with 12GB memory & 2 Gforce GTS 250 video cards 5 SATA HDs and a DVD/CD RW. Started up fine and entered BIOS but when shut down to add a device the power supply refused to start. In fact it wouldn't supply power to the Motherboard which was apparent by the absence of a red or green light. Voltmeter checks showed no power being produced.
Cons: Poor documentation. Have to rely heavily on motherboard manual. Lots of excess cables could be a problem but with current CoolerMaster case was able to route behind slide in motherboard. Others might not be as fortunate. Modular would have been nice.
Other Thoughts: No fault to Newegg. Handled RMA in very rapid fashion.
