Unleash the power of Ancient Greece with the Athena Power 400W PSU. It puts out 400W maximum power - just what you need for all your components. Athena includes backwards capability which allows it to be used with older motherboards, like the ATX V2.2. This PSU also includes a PCI Express 6-PIN connector for VGA card use.  The Micro SFX includes dual fans for a cooler computer with reduced noise and ripple features.

  • newegg The Micro SFX Design Micro SFX power supplies are known mostly as a replacement power supply. But now, they have evolved to be used for mini-ATX cases, custom built computers, mini-servers and more. With the increase of wattage and efficiency, the micro SFX is a conventional PSU that can be used for multiple purposes.
  • newegg Designed for custom built PCs, mini-servers, and HTPCs The APOLLO 400Watt power supply will support the most current ATX motherboards V2.2 and lower. Its PCI-E 6-pin connector supports an additional VGA card. This PSU is ideal for custom-built PCs, mini-servers and HTPCs.
  • newegg Dual Fan With its dual fans located at the front and back of the power supply, the rear fan takes in the heat produced inside the server or system and pushes it through the front fan, which is positioned towards the exit points of the server/system, keeping the motherboard and hard drives cool. This design allows the power supply to take 100% of the heat generated by the interior system and push it out of the server/system. While some other PSU fans work differently, this dual-fan set-up is designed to maintain a reliable source of power, keeping the system cool. Some may second guess this dual fan feature for fear it will increase noise volumes; however, with its thermal fan speed control, it will automatically detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly - reducing overall noise.

4 out of 5 eggs5 years - and still works

Pros: Still works after five years. I keep it outside the box, as the stupid compact design I have never had room for it :>

Cons: I think one of the two fans stopped working over a year ago, but so far, it doesn't seem to impact the performance.

2 out of 5 eggsFans Inoperative

Pros: Has the form factor and connectors I need.

Cons: Internal fans do not operate. They work when connected to external 12V power.

Other Thoughts: Easy to disassemble and pull fan leads out of the case.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power want to apologize for the inconvenience, we could of assisted you with rectifying this problem instead of using an external source for the internal fans. Please contact a service representative either at service@athenapower.us or call us at (626) 810-5008 and they will assist you with getting you a functioning PSU. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: (2) 6-pin PCIe connectors.

Cons: Loud fans.

Other Thoughts: I removed the fans and let the positive air pressure in my case passively cool it. I've been using it this way since March 2010 to power an i7-860, GTX 260, and a single hard drive.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Inexpensive device considering 400 watt for Micro ATX

Cons: Fails quickly and regularly based on other user reviews and my own experiences

Other Thoughts: Fan #1 failed about last month, did some research and decided that because most of the reviews reported that after a fan fails, the whole device fails, that it was time for me to upgrade. Not a bad price even though it failed. I figure the device cost me about 15$ per year of ownership, not great but not terrible.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power want to apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing and we would recommend that you contact our service center at (626) 810-5008. A service representative will be happy to assist you with conducting an RMA and other issues. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fits my tower.

Cons: First one died a year after owning it - still gave power, but the fan was OBNOXIOUSLY loud. Second one has been in my possession for 4 months now - and the fan has begun making noise like a helicopter is landing in my room.....

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and we would like it if you could contact a service representative immediately so they can assist you with your fan noise problem. Please contact us at (626) 810-5008 or send us an e-mail at service@athenapower.us, thank you.

3 out of 5 eggs20 month PSU

Pros: Shiny, feels solid, plenty of connectors including sata and four pin, still shiny, fans never made much noise like other people have reported.

Cons: Fit a little loose in my case, makes cable management a little difficult with the many plugs. Blew after twenty months.

Other Thoughts: Blew after twenty months. Kind of expected it considering the low price. Actually surprised considering it held out as long as it did. Bought it as a replacement for a failed power supply on a server box. Ran nearly continuously for as long as I had it, considering it was on a server box. When it failed, I heard a loud electrical pop and smelled the burning silicon. Unsure of whether it fried the mobo. Hard drives still work thankfully.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsFirst the fan fails . . .

Pros: It fit the case.

Cons: First the fan failed, with much noise. I replaced the fan. Then the power supply failed a few hours later. It took about 40 hours of use to fail completely.

Other Thoughts: I'll avoid this brand in the future.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsAbysmal

Pros: The only power supply for Dell's older business class computers.

Cons: Breaks after a couple months. I bought one about a year back, and it held out for about 4 months, then broke. I got a replacement and it was DOA. I got a new one in March which just broke. Such quality is unacceptable. I will no longer purchase products from Athena Power because of this trend of poor quality.

Other Thoughts: When my computer would no longer turn on (right when i realized the PS was broken) I could hear something rattling around inside the unit.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse and worse

Pros: It's still shiny after a year of owning it, and the fans are still holding their own.

Cons: After owning this unit for a year and a half, it suddenly started smoking and the next thing I know it's throwing sparks out the rear fan grille. No warning, one minute it's working just fine and the next it's having a violent failure. I won't know if it also surge-fried my MB and other internals until I get another power supply installed.

Other Thoughts: Top gear top tip......avoid. As I said before, it looks good, feels hefty, and at first glance it is promising. But it's shoddy build quality WILL eventually kick you upside the head.
