2 out of 5 eggsSaddening

Pros: This product worked wonders for about 2 months.
Then... poof. No bueno.
I ran a lot on this thing, definitely got plenty of power out of it.
Today's hardware sips watts, so I was able to build a fully functioning, and overclocked, LAN rig.

am3 x6 @ 4.2ghz stable, 1.4_V
ati 7750LP, slight overclock
8gb SODIMM DDR3 1600
1xSATA drive
1x120mm case fan

It powered all that with no problems, until one day it just shut off. :/

Cons: Committed suicide far too early.

Other Thoughts: I am RMA-ing this with the help of an Athena employee, who was quick, precise and apologetic to my situation.
I am going to mail it tomorrow, and they are replacing it.
With any luck, the new one will work better. If that one fails in the same manor, I will not buy another Athena product.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me.

Pros: Identical size to replace a failed power supply for SonicWall PRO2040.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: A little too much wire/connector for me. Hope it last for a long time.

2 out of 5 eggsLoud Fan

Pros: Fits my existing slimline desktop

Cons: Cable is too short to reach from HD to DVD & 4 pin barely reaches far side of motherboard. Replaced a 100W PS with this one and the fan is on full time and full speed at all times. Worst of all the fan is VERY loud and noticable at all times when on the desk.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and we will be happy to assist you in processing an RMA for you for your power supply. Please contact us at (626) 810-5008 or e-mail us at service@athenapower.us. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsNot very good, find another one

Pros: Small

Cons: Bought 6 of these, 1 dead out of the box, 2 lasted less than 10 mins. 1 is still on the shelf.

Other Thoughts: I bought these as spares and they have turned out to be anthing but. I would suggest you look at other brands.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh...

Pros: Powers the computer...
what else...

Cons: Loud fan. Not hair dryer load, but louder than necessary.
runs pretty hot for the computer running at idle.
This DOES NOT have the slim ATX connector that you are probably needing.

Other Thoughts: Had to to use a ATX to HP-Slim-ATX Converter.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and we will be happy to assist you with an RMA if you are unhappy with the fan noise of the PSU. We also provide a cross reference form that assist users in finding out if their system needs a mini 24pin connector you can find that list here; http://www.athenapower.com/flexatx-compatibility-table. 3 out of 5 eggsDOA on my first unit.

Pros: Customer support was courteous and timely; ultimately the unit was exchanged and is working as it should.

Cons: The first unit I purchased worked great for about six hours before shutting down and never turning on again.

Had to pay for my own shipping.

Other Thoughts: I waited a fair amount of time before actually testing this unit so an RMA was not an option -- I had to directly deal with the manufacturer.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and we are happy that a service representative was able to assist you to your satisfaction. If you need any other assistance or have any questions please feel free to contact us again. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsnot as originally advertised

Pros: physical size, fast tech service at manuf., but gave wrong advice.

Cons: This was originally advertised as having much higher output amperages. When I received the item in the mail, the label on the unit showed lower output amps. I questioned New Egg about it. They offered to return it, and/or call the manuf. for technical advice. I called Athena, tech service was fast to answer, however the tech said he new exactly the issue, that UL had reclassified the outputs and that the label on the unit is correct, but that it I would not have an issue, he suggested install and see how it works. His feeling was that it would work as intended and I would have no issues. I did. It seemed to work fine for a week and then it quit. Now back to square one. Will see how the return with new egg goes. So far, so good.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We would like to notify you that if the PSU stops working you can contact us directly at service@athenapower.us or call us at (626) 810-5008 and we will be happy to assist you in troubleshooting or assist you with obtaining a replacement PSU.

Quiet, inexpensive compared to shuttle power supplies on other sites. Worked without issue and fit well in the shuttle case.
