Modern video cards and modern computers require a power supply with some muscle, and Hec's Zephyr model aims to do just that.
Capable of providing a continuous 750 Watts, this powerful supply is both NVIDIA SLI and ATI Crossfire X certified. With an efficiency of 84%, less power gets wasted as heat, and active Power Factor Control (PFC) also cuts down on energy requirements. In addition to saving power, it's also RoHS certified. Four powerful +12 V rails allow for easier power regulation while still delivering the power you need. A 12cm fan and a temperature-controlled 8cm fan give cooling with noise control. Connections for seven peripherals and eight SATA drives as well as up to six PCI Express boards (4 six pin and 2 eight pin connectors) give you plenty of versatility.
Whether you need to replace an existing supply or your building a custom computer, this could very well be the supply you need.

Pros: I've already reviewed this product once but I just want to come back and share some more information. From what i can tell, rails one and two are dedicated just to the PCI cords on the supply. and to make things even easier on us, they nicely labeled which rail the connectors are attached to. this is to keep from overloading one rail, but i have a feeling some of you complaining about your PC shutting down don't realize this (because i didn't at first lol). i made my build with one radeon 3870 originally. worked fine. the card used one PCI 6 pin wire. recently i just added a 3870X2 card (yes, you can crossfire a X2 with a single GPU card). this 3870X2 required both a 6 and an 8 pin connector, so i grabbed the wires at random. come game time my PC shut down during crysis. upon inspection i realized that i was using all wires on rail 2. duh! so, i switched out the 8 pin for the one on rail 1. ...continue down...
Cons: this made it so that i had the two 6 pin connectors running off rail 2 and the 8 pin running off of rail one. i rebooted my computer and everything was fine, so i decided to put it under load and booted crysis back up. well, i just got done with a 2 hour session of crysis and my PC never flinched. now, i'm not saying this is everyone's problem, because DoAs happen, but this is definitively something that should be kept in mind when building your PC with this supply.
Other Thoughts: sometimes you think you know everything about what you're doing and you miss something like this.

Pros: long cables= cable management made easy. good airflow. i have been using this psu for 5 months now and it works great. lots of pci x that come labeled. take a look at the side stick on psu. it is higher that 750
Cons: none. guy below that fried his stuff doesnt know what he is doing and should have asked for help.
Other Thoughts: do not use the extra 4 pin attached to the 20pin if your mobo is a 20 pin. put some electric tape around it and leave it alone. lol use the 4-8 pin like you are suppose to.

Pros: Complex version: The four high-amperage rails make for an excellent stability. The 750w that the PSU can supply offers an extreme amount of overhead that even the largest gaming PCs can seldom hit. Also the shear number of connections on the PSU are fairly nuts. Except for the 24 pin MOBO connector you could power several PCs on this thing! Simple version: It's cheap, it's powerful, and it will work for nearly any gaming PC.
Cons: The only reason I gave this 3 "eggs" instead of 5 was because my first unit died after about two weeks of work. One morning I turn on my computer but instead of the lovely Asus BIOS screen the case lights begin to flash as if I was having an epileptic fit on the reset switch. I quickly switched out the PSU with a 500watter that I had lying around. The 500w PSU booted my computer fine. I then proceeded to send the unit back to Newegg for a (hopefully new) replacement unit.
Other Thoughts: I believe that my case was a fluke and that you should try out the PSU. This is also why I am very willing to try out another one of these units. The number of connections and the amount of power it can supply is quite remarkable and should not be passed up for the $100.

Pros: I purchased this PSU here on newegg as part of a package with a computer case a few years back. It ran my 8800GTX and Q6600 without complaint for a long time.
Cons: It cannot handle my new setup (which, according to Asus's PSU calculator, should only require a 650W PSU). Its voltages are currently way off the mark, with the 5V rail clocking in at 6.2V and the 12V rail reporting voltages closer to 11V. I made sure that my GTX275 Lightning was using two separate 12V rails, and not the same one.
Other Thoughts: It's a cheap PSU for 750W. You get what you pay for.
