Pros: It works good. I bought it to put my old HP laptops hard drive into after the laptop died on me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It comes with a USB power adaptor so it will take 2 USB or a USB/firewire. This is only an issue with laptops that only have 2 USB ports or no firewire port. You can probably buy or use a different power cable but I'll stick with what it came with.

Nice enclosure

Pros: I has an aluminum body and a firewire connection. It is very compact and light. The indicator makes a nice flashlight.

Cons: Don't look directly into the blue led. Don't drop the tiny little screws when you are taking it apart.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why firewire isn't more common than USB.

Excellent - Great to have options

Pros: This unit uses a SATA internal connector. It also allows you to connect using super FAST "FireWire" 1394, as well as good 'ole USB 1.1 and 2.0

Cons: if your laptop uses the 4-wire Firewire external port, then you'll need to run the included dummy USB wire to feed the enclosure power. For a destop PC you'll be using a 6-wire Fire wire cable, which supplies power.

Other Thoughts: No complaints really. This is a great unit. I like the alumnimum enclosure - its real rugged. I really don't mind the USB power issue, since FireWire is so much faster than USB.
