5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Performance

Pros: Fast Charge Time, Compact size, Ability to charge AA or AAA size batteries, Awesome Battery Life.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: The Powerex Batteries are THE BEST batteries I have ever used - I can't believe how long they are lasting. I am using a set of 4 in my Canon S5-IS Digital Camera and they have provided power for well over a month of moderate useage. i thought at best they would equal a set of Duracell Alkalines but no - they have out performed those hands down! For me these are a revolution as I was used to rechargable batteries having pretty short lives before trying these POWEREX beauties!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Charger & Batteries

Pros: When they say this charger is about the size of a digital camera, they mean it. It and my Canon A640 are about the same size. It comes with eight (8) 2700 mAh AA-size batteries that hold a charge for a very long time. Several times I've taken around 1,000 shots per charge, a quarter of those using the flash. Charging doesn't take much time at all, and should your batteries start to act up, hit the little gray button. It conditions the batteries to hold a full charge again. For travelers, it'll plug into any outlet (with an adapter in some countries) regardless of voltage. 120v or 240v it doesn't matter, and there's no "wall wart" to drop on your foot!

Cons: The batteries can and do get HOT while charging, so let them cool before you slap them in the carry case or camera. Leaving the batteries in the charger to cool isn't a problem, as the charger does have a "Trickle Charge" feature. You'll cool the batteries off and top 'em up at the same time. However, pull them out as soon as the light turns green and they will be rather hot.

Other Thoughts: Imaging Resource did the first review of this brand that I'd ever read. That's why I bought 'em, and haven't been disappointed in the least since. That was roughly a year ago and they're still kicking along fine. During Christmas I must have taken over 400 images with my A640. While I changed SD cards three times, I never had to touch the batteries, and every one of those photos was taken using the flash.

This is one I would highly recommend to anyone needing AA batteries for any purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat battery performance

Pros: Excellent batter performance and short charging cycles. Used a freshly charged pair in a Cannon Powershot A720 IS, took more than 150 shots and still going strong. Normal Alkaline batter won't last more than 100 shots before giving low power warning.

Cons: Pricy and Charger seems to work on with Powerex batteries. It rejected other rechargeable batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT charger!

Pros: Small and light with a short power cord, which is the perfect compromise for travel in my experience. WORKS GREAT!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I had some rechargeable AA batteries laying around that could barely hold a charge after a couple of years of use with a run-of-the-mill charger. I ran them through the reconditioning cycle in this charger and now they work BETTER than new!

5 out of 5 eggsIt keeps going and going and going

Pros: Long lasting, quick charging, recondition function, 8 cells included!

Cons: Lasts too long...

Other Thoughts: It is primarily used on a Canon A640, but also tested on a electric-guzzling Gateway DC-M42 camera. Normally it takes 4-6 shots before dying out on alkaline batteries, and about 15-25 shots with 1600 mAH NiMH. With these batterest, I was getting around 100+ shots before it died! The batteries gets hot though, which is a testament to how much drain that camera was to use. On the Canon, I have more than 300 shots over the month, and now it's just sitting there. When I last turned it on, the same set of batteries were at 80%! The only "con" is that I bought 8 batteries (2 sets) so that once one set goes out, I can insert the other set. However, the 1 set is lasting a month, and the other set is just sitting there not being used (self-discharge). It isn't that bad though - I tested it after a month of storage (a month before I did a full charge) and it still reads 100% on the camera (a 1.5v on the multimeter). I'm not sure if full charge storage is bad for the batteries though...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat charger & excellent battery life

Pros: I've had this set for about 2 and a half months now, and I'm still using the first set of batteries that I charged. They've been in my digital camera (Canon Powershot S3 IS) for over 400 pics and vids, and there is still no indication of low battery life. Great because the camera went through some regular energizers in about 2 days. Needless to say, I haven't used the other 4 that I charged over 2 months ago.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've only used the charger once so far. I've never used rechargeables that have given this much power to a digicam for this long. Very impressed.
