POWEREX MH-4AAI-BH 2400mAh 4-pack AA IMEDION Pre-Charged and Ready-to-use Rechargeable Batteries

Pros: They do what they say -- they hold their charge for extended periods with low self-discharge

They are conservatively rated at 2400mah -- they really hold 2500 or more

They have apparently fixed the terminal length issues others have complained about as mine have been fine

Cons: None to date

Other Thoughts: I've really been very pleased with these with my LaCrosse BC-700 charger

I also own Eneloops and these work as well but hold more power

Pros: -Solid output
-Reliable
-Awesome ability to hold a charge
-Durable

Cons: -Wrapping can peel a bit through constant use

Other Thoughts: I use these for my Nikon SB-800 flash unit and also my D300 8cell battery grip insert. They get constant use and never give up. Also the beauty of their ability to hold the majority of their charge for at least a year makes them indespensible. I wouldn't use anything else. I also own about 24 of these cells. Use them in our wiimotes as well. Make sure to get a good charger. Don't cheap out on the very device that needs to keep them working at their most optimum performance!

P.S. Keep in mind these batteries hold up to at least 500 cycles. Now that's getting your monies worth!

Pros: I had been using other NM-H batteries with a higher rating, 2,700. Then I saw these, rated at 2,100. This mAh rating is the amp hour rating that describes the total battery output power. But it's not that simple. This battery is special among the others, in that it really can hold a charge sitting on the shelf. What good is 2,700 if you charge it, then 7 days later it has lost 20%? Then it's no better than a 2,100, or even worse. When I buy batteries, I label them with purchase date. This is good to track really old batteries. Then I charge maybe 8 or 12, and put them in a jar labeled 'charged'. They are ready to go. Another jar for 'needs charge'. My charger does four at a time. It stinks to pull out what you think are 8 charged batteries, find out half the charge is gone, and have to recharge them again. Also, without two chargers, this takes time. These IMEDION batteries do what they say. A month goes by, but they are still ready.

Cons: I can't think of any cons I've run into with these. If I really get 500 or more cycles I'll be very happy. That's something else to consider. Do those other 2,700 mAh batteries still deliver that rating after three or four hundred cycles?

Other Thoughts: Some people have said these batteries are expensive. For the performance, I think they are an outstanding value. Do the math. Look at what best quality AA alkaline batteries cost. Then multiply that times 300 (at least what you'll get in charge cycles with these IMEDION's). What's the number look like? Now tell me these batteries are expensive!

Pros: I talked to MAHA about the terminal problem, and they said that this had been corrected. Looks like I got some old stock. You might want to wait a while to buy so the problem cells can work out of the system.

Cons: None anymore

Other Thoughts: Tech support from these people is some of the best.

Pros: Every bit as good as Eneloops and top quality from MAHA. They hold their charge and they last longer than regular NiMH

Cons: Big problems with the short + terminal post. I have three different electronics (an Ebook and two radios), all brand new, and none of them will make the contact and work.

Other Thoughts: I haven't seen this contact problem in 40 years back when most NiCads had these problems. It is very unfortunate that such high quality cells have such a glaring defect.

When they do work, they are superb.

(It's rumored that if you find the Duracell pre-charged rechargeables with the white ring around the + terminal button, those are actually Eneloops, too. I've had good luck with them.)

Cons: In order to get more capacity into these guys, Powerex lengthened the body of the battery, and so the + terminal button is shorter than most other batteries. The result? They work in most devices. But many things are designed to prevent batteries from being inserted the wrong way, and they depend on the button sticking into a recessed slot to make contact with the + terminal.

The bottom line is that if I put these into an old Sony radio I have, the batteries don't work. They work great in my Nikon flash, though -- and most of the other gadgets I have.

Pros: Ready-to-use batterys (R2U) are hybrid NI-MH batteries. They are made to hold a charge for a longer time than typical NI-HM battery. R2U batteries usually after 6 months still have a 90% of their charge and after a year about 85%, so they will still drain but as anyone knows a regular NI-HM is not going to last nearly that long.

Cons: do not have shelf life of an alkaline battery. They still drain just stitting there but much slower than a normal NI-HM

Other Thoughts: These batteries are nice. They are a nice improvement over normal NI-HM batteries and hold their charge much longer. Plus they are made by Maha who are known for quality rechargable battery products, especially their chargers

Pros: Fast service, holds charge longer than normal NI MH

Cons: States it holds charge "up to" so it could hold charge for 1% for 1 day and the statement is true

Other Thoughts: Gee great review above, what "TESTS". Sound like a sales pitch to me.

Pros: Best batteries you can buy, will not lose power even after sitting on the shelf for months. Ran tests on batteries, bought several other brands, even more expensive ones.
These are the best ones i've tested.

Cons: Need more, and somewhat expensive
