Antec's NeoPower 650 is breaking new ground in PC power delivery. Its modular cable design has all of the connectors along the bottom edge of the housing and the rest of the back panel is a steel mesh. This highly efficient design makes it possible to only use one 80mm fan to keep the components cool since air can be pulled straight across them.
In today's power hungry world you need as much juice as you can get, and with 650W of continuous power output the NeoPower has plenty to spare. Three 12V rails deliver 19A each to keep everything running strong. The universal input with active PFC lets you take your system anywhere in the world and not have to worry about voltage changes.
It is compatible with ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V systems for maximum versatility. There are four SATA connectors for your drives and two PCIe connectors for video cards. One of the PCIe connectors is a 6+2 pin connector for really hungry cards. Your system needs power, feed the need with Antec!

Increadible buy
- Pros: Power supplies are difficult to test. However under tough test platforms the Neo dose extremely well - very low ripple under heavy load! SLI support x2, modular cables and 3 12V rails! 85% efficient means LESS HEAT in your case and lower energy waste. NOW look at the price, $xx with coupon, the next comparable is $xxx.
- Cons: no pretty lights
- Other Thoughts: Some may want 4 PCI-e connectors but you need a 850W - kilowatt PS to do that well.
Bought for Antec Perf2 Series 835
- Pros: Airflow design of PSU keeps case shocking cooler, however doesn’t keep CPU cooler. My old PSU had 2 fans, a 80mm on the back, 90mm pulling air away from CPU on the bottom. My old case fan set up was 2x80mm fans on the back moving 70cfm @ 66db. So I replaced it with a Scythe 120mm SFF21F 63cfm @ 28db. The Neo’s 80mm is about as quite as a Scythe, but only moves half or less the air.
Modular cables are great. Unneeded cables are removed from case. Now I only wish for MoBo makers to moves the connects on the back of the board. My computer takes 568W if everything was running at full voltage. I added up my power draw in a spreadsheet and came up with +12V@34, +15V@23, +3.3V@18. I’m running a 2.8G Intel with 4x512MB Ram and 2 HD. GC Rosewell Geforce 6600 which takes 128W.
- Cons: Modular cable is made cheaply, the wires are lousily set in the plastic plug and to plug the cables in you need to adjust the wires to line up the connectors inside the plastic plug in order to plug it in.
Fan maker is unknown and no solid statistics on fan. Not confirmed but fan maybe made by ADDA like the Neo Blue. Might be moving less than 30cfm, about 20db. 12V rail not truly separate rails but separated on the wafer controller like other PSU makers. Plus no image markers on PSU or in instruction to indicate which accessory plugs are associated to which 12V rail. I believe the first 2 ports are 12V2 and the last 3 next to the MoBo cables are 12V3.
- Other Thoughts: Antec has great PSU and when they say its 650W it really can handle that, no over fluffing their numbers claiming it can handle more watts than it can. If you do the math you should get 883.2W, but that is if you get a full conversion of AC to DC. This PSU doesn’t produce that much heat but 85% efficiency its not. More like 81.5% but it might be the load tested on it.
If you have a 20pin MoBo power connector to completely break the extra 4 pins completely away. Don’t leave the 4pin connector attached to the 20pin plug. Cut the swinging part and tie it up away from the MoBo. Someone fried their MoBo because a soldering job connected inside the one of the pins. Note I didn’t get this from Newegg. I got it from a competitor Z*pZ**Fl* and took them a whole week to finally ship it. I ordered parts from Newegg the same day got it three days later without paying extra by Express Mailing it. I wonder what would happen if I paid extra for Express Mail, get it the day I ordered?

It works
- Pros: Solved some problems with voltage instability from a cheap psu I had. Gave me the juice my rig needed
- Cons: cpu power cable is not modular, yet no one needs both of them.... silly but no big deal
- Other Thoughts: works as expected
Nice and quiet
- Pros: Low noise, modular design, solid construction and good cables with protective sheathes.
- Cons: Could have used another 2-device SATA power cable. Only two (2-device) SATA power cables supplied. But you can use one of the supplied other regular cables to hook up more SATA devices
- Other Thoughts: Installed perfectly in my CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 and Tyan S2915-E motherboard
Works like charm
- Pros: Works without any problems for almost a year. Good quality cables that are easy to manage.
- Cons: None
