5 out of 5 eggsThis is a great product - why discontinued?

Pros: Installed fine in my HAF 932 case. No problems connecting to my system. Haven't used it much for drive swapping but nice to know I could if I needed to. Was just about to order another one (maybe 2) when I saw they are no longer available. Bummed!!

Cons: None, I love this product

Other Thoughts: As a comparison, I had a WD HD fail in less than a year in a Rosewill 4 bay JBOD external case. The drive that lives in this Antec caddy is still going strong. I think there must be better air circulation around this caddy, hope I can find another somewhere else.

5 out of 5 eggsUse them on all my computers

Pros: Great for easy access without external cables/power supplies, etc. Just plug drive in and do what you need to do. Easy to use. You can plug any SATA disk devices yow want in to it.

Cons: They are out of stock - I was going to buy more of them.

Other Thoughts: I put one in each computer for easy removable disk access. I can boot another O/S if I wanted to or do quick backups. If I had the money I would use these for all my drives so I could remove any drive when I need to.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally Awesome

Pros: Thise caddys are completely awesome because they go in easy, wire up easy. They are no different then having a hard drive inside the computer, none. Only difference is the SATA I, II or III yes SATA 3 the 6gig one plugs right in. I only have SATA 2 (3gs) on board but I have SATA 3 (6gps) hard drives and they plug right in. You still have to format a hard drive or what ever you need to do to make it work but with these there is no difference between having them inside or in the front. Heck I took all hard drives out of the computer and use this only to run or copy I have two in the front for copying or anything I want from drive to drive. They are completely trouble free. Using Western Digital

Cons: I can't think of anything I could put in here. I have been using them for 6 months. I am carefull with them but they operate flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: I will never build another computer without using this system. Why have to take the computer appart unplugging everything when you can push a button on the front and take the hard drive out and swap them.

1 out of 5 eggsBe nice of it worked

Pros: If it worked, it would be a great way to backup data quickly onto my older drives.

Cons: Tried it in two computers so far. Drive not recognized.

4 out of 5 eggsVery useful

Pros: Works great. For me, its much better than using a drive dock.

Cons: Drives will hang on the front faceplate when removing. The reason for only 4 stars. The faceplate is a little warped in the center, but not easily noticeable.

Other Thoughts: - Not sure why it has the front eSata port, wish it wasn't there.
- A door on the front (like some CD players would be nice, so as to hide the drive.
- An adapter for 2.5 drivers would be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is great

Pros: Fits in an Antec case like a glove; makes a SATA drive a portable storage device; eSATA connection on the front; well-built and good-looking

Cons: None really.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product, about time

Pros: been waiting and searching for this, installs great in an antec 1200 case. Thank you antec.
I bought 3.
sata hard drives can now be used like a floppy disk.
price was fair. best part is you plug a sata hard drive right in, no need to mess with installing the hd in a caddy first.

Cons: none really. plugging in a hard drive it's a tight fit, and removing it you have to watch the sata connector on the drive it doesn't catch on the caddy, no big deal.
the esata port on the front is not a bad idea, but i won't use it and the esata cable hanging takes up space. I suppose you can unplug that esata cable, i was in too much of a hurry to install the caddies. Haven't figured out the hot swap procedure yet, but my old maxtor 1.5gbps sata drive plugged in and worked no problem. If you don't have AHCI then turning off the pc, plugging in a drive and booting back up is still better than having to open up your case to install a drive.

wish my motherboard had more sata ports.

Other Thoughts: sata hard drives will become the next floppy disk.
case makers should consider building a sata backplane into their case to allow for at least 2 sata drives to plug in like a floppy disk either in the front of the case or in to the top. It would sell!

antec 1200 case, asus p6x58d-e, windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT PRODUCT

Pros: Very solid, doesn't flex. Install is solid, and rigid. Drives don't seem to get exceptionally hot, despite lack of fan, or anything else to cool them. Perfect for copying data to the disk, removing it.
Or, playing a movie from a disk, then switching. LOVE not having to pay 30 bucks for a caddy for each drive.

Cons: Esata cable is WAY too short for my case, which is a P180.

Other Thoughts: Great value, and neat product.

3 out of 5 eggsface plate

Pros: works nicely, but in Vista need to have AHCI enabled in BIOS for it to work as hot swap...if you don't have that enabled already, don't..will cause BSOD's with out a fresh format

Cons: the only real annoying thing I have with this is that the face plate will pop off when removing a drive..this then involves removing the case faceplate to get it back in decently. I should have just saved my money and bought the CM690 II advanced

5 out of 5 eggsGreat addition to Dell Optiplex 760

Pros: Replaced the DVD drive on my Optiplex 760 SFF. Well constructed and minimalistic. Exactly what I wanted.

Cons: The hard-disk doesn't go all the way into the slot, and part of it stays exposed.
I didn't need the eSATA cable.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't come with cables, but then what more can you get for $21+shipping.
