5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: - Solid construction
- Sleek design
- Can be used as a stand alone enclosure with OR without RFID encryption.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For those who think this MUST use the RFID encryption, that is incorrect. The enclosure can still function as a non-encrypted USB adapter. I use it this way, and here is the how-to from InWin's website:

Instead of installing a brand-new hard disk (without partition), a partition must be created in the hard disk before being installed in AMMO. Then, the device will function without RFID security as normal enclosure.
2. The following two options are recommended for users who prefer not to activate the RFID function: 1. Install a used HDD (partition created already) 2. Purchase a new HDD and create a partition on another computer before installing it in the AMMO.

5 out of 5 eggszoroaster doenst know what he is talking about

Pros: -rfid secure
-doesnt need external power
-worked in seconds of turning it on
excellent buy

Cons: -none-

Other Thoughts: How hard is it to google a review of this thing before you buy it and now you are saying half truths because you own a mac.... It comes with a magnetic is this a bad thing, will the tiny end get to close to your drive and do what? the thing bearly picks up the tiny screws. And it is a rfid secure drive why would it work without an rfid tag? Also, if you take the drive out of the enclosure and plug it into something else, it wont work.....hence why it is some research before you buy tech that is clearly over your head

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Solidly built, operating light is a nice small blue light. The RFID tag security works great. The RFID even works on my Linux laptop. One small RFID tag for a keychain and one is a Dog Tag. Easy to install the drive in a rubber housing that I am sure will help protect the drive if you drop it.
Arrived fast like always, Newegg is the best.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I slapped this new 320Gb drive in it, cool, quiet and good price.
After you set it up and plug it into the computer it will beep and show a red light where the RFID reader is at. The computer will not see it until you take the RFID tag and activate it. The unit will beep and the light will turn green, a few seconds later the computer will see the drive and you can now use it just like any other external drive. I initially set it up with XP and formatted it to NTFS since Ubuntu can read and write to NTFS file systems and use it to back all my computers up to it.
It is bigger than other 2.5" external drives, but not allot, looks really cool.
I have not tried this but I am sure if you pulled the drive out and stuck it in another housing the data could be easily read so don't trust this for security. If you want to protect your data use an encrytion program (Truecrypt is free) to put file

2 out of 5 eggsnot properly advertised

Pros: solid case design, even if it looks like an m16 cartridge. works fine with vista. Shock mount rubber protector that fits around the harddrive and controller, but protects it from the solid aluminum case.

Cons: harddrive sits inside a rubber glove type case. essentially the controller connects to the drive without any protection other than the rubber outside. There's nothing seating the drive or controller except for flimsy rubber. I doubt the rubber is electostatically protective. not very smart since the controller and harddrive are exposed and the only grounding is the USB chord. Don't use sensitive information on the drive until you can guarantee it won't get zapped.

Doesn't work on Mac except for ms-dos (FAT). this limits the file size. Should've been advertised it can't be used with HFS+ and I wouldn't have wasted my time and $$. BTW Macdrive 8 won't format or read ms-dos FAT, so don't think you can use it with your windoze machine either.

Comes with a mini-philips screwdrive. I thought it was cool they included it until I realized it was magnetic.

someone in taiwan was smoking some real good Šhit when they were designing this.

Other Thoughts: I didn't know the drive was entirely controlled by RFID tag. I thought maybe it was an option. should've done my homework. Can't say that's a smart option because you can lose the RFID tag.

On the other hand since you can just open up the case and take out the drive and reconnect it to another controller minus the RFID interface, what's the point?

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product

Pros: rubber instead for mounting hard drive strong metal casing
RF-ID security with keys what else oh 1TB installed sata HD
this thing is really, really cool well made design. made in Taiwan they always make better products. I don't like any other designs that WD, Seagate, etc have made I had a 160GB Sata HD and wanted a case and this was the coolest thing I found plus it made with us mil-std even says on the box.

Cons: the beef i have is with the the rubber protector for the usb port and power. when i took the two screws i wasn't carefully and pulled out the rubber protector but was easily fixed with 30 seconds. just when you take out the two screws push from the back of the rubber mount where it says in win.

Other Thoughts: this a really cool enclosure
i would love to see mac make a laptop look like this.
the box it came in was small L 8 1/2 / W 6 1/2 / H 1
I've already had 5 people at work ask me why i have a m16 cartridge sitting on my desk lol
i guess the next question would be at the airport make sure nobody gives you a headache about the design during your baggage check

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Product

Pros: none

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have not received this product just ordered today however when it comes in I will give me of a review. From what I can tell RFID encryption, shocks, etc. Seems to be a outstanding product and it looks good for 160GB drive I'm going to install in it.
