5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Power Supply

Pros: + price
+ performance
+ looks nice

Cons: - had to do math to reach this conclusion

Other Thoughts: No issue with this one. Took about 15 minutes to open up my case, remove the old one, put in the new one, and hook up all the cables ALL WHILE EATING A PEANUT BUTTER AND HONEY SANDWICH IN MY OTHER HAND. NO LIE.

5 out of 5 eggsThey thought of everything

Pros: - Cables and Accessories that came with it. The roll up pouch thing works a lot better than the messy one that came with the Corsair HX750.
- Long cables for bottom mount (I had a Corsair 300R and Fractal Design Define R4 which both are "ATX Mid Towers" and the cords with the Corsair HX750 could have been a little longer)
- Nice smooth white finish, looks good in both my cases
- Well Packaged
- Very Efficient
- 5 year warranty
- Price for what you get

Cons: - Ships from USA to Canada (if you're in Canada), so it takes a bit longer and costs more for things like express shipping.

Other Thoughts: I never heard about Fractal's stuff until Tek Syndicate did a few videos on their stuff. Really good stuff. As far as ordering things from anything online, there are risks. What I like to do is pop out my cell phone and just record the initial opening of the thing so I never have to worry about disputing an RMA.

I've also only ever had one RMA, and it was on a product which costed me less than $30 to buy the first time.

Before with the Corsair HX750 (an exceptional GOLD PSU) 550 Watts under full system load
After with the FD Newton R3 1000W 525 Watts under full system load.
* Measured with a Belkin Watt meter thingy while playing games.

Overall, the Platinum rating, the warranty, and the price really make this PSU a no-brainer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Super efficient
Lots of power
USA based tech support

Cons: Not enough peripheral molex connectors for my rig. Had to cut a SATA one and make my own for 2 extra 4 pin connectors

Other Thoughts: It's a great company. Everything they make is solid. This PSU was no exception. i was pulling over 800 watts on a gold PSU and switch to this one. It dropped down to 714- 720. I would buy one again if the need was there.

1 out of 5 eggsHeld up my build for weeks

Pros: Beautiful design, and seemingly solid construction. Very compact and will fight in tight spaces.

Cons: My system was shutting down within 2 seconds of being powered on. The PSU was so pretty (and expensive) that I didn't suspect it initially. When I DID begin to suspect it, a multimeter test on all hot pins showed normal voltages. I checked and re-checked for any grounding conditions that might be causing the issue and couldn't find anything. After RMA'ing my motherboard, swapping CPU and RAM, and many long hours of fiddling, I purchased another PSU and my system powered up without issue.

Other Thoughts: The color of this supply is PURE white - no hint of ivory or off-white so it may not match your case exactly (unless you buy Fractal Design, I'm guessing).

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible PSU - QUIET!

Pros: I purchased this PSU via Tiger Direct, rather than here, because they only had white. I had previously ordered the 800w from Newegg, also excellent.

Before I had purchased this PSU I DID see this other 1 star review here. That's horrible that the guy lost his system AND that the first review for such a good product was 1 star.

Fractal should have had better QC.

But so far, after running this PSU for 3 days, my system is running very stably, not to mention it's almost silent. I come in the room thinking that my system has crashed or shut off, but it's just that quiet. I also have two Sapphire 7970s running. I've moved to this from a Cooler Master 750w - which in hindsight was garbage.

With this fractal design PSU when I'm mining and have these cards cranked up, it's still less than half the noise as the Cooler Master. It produces FAR less heat as well, and my system box - which used to keep the house warm, is now running about 20 degrees C. cooler than with the "Cooler Master".

When you open the box on one of these you have an "Oh, that's what a 5 star PSU looks like!" epiphany.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsThanks Newegg

Pros: ...well if it had worked there may have been some.

Cons: It was DOA and had the warranty sticker torn when it arrived. Newegg wouldn't warranty it or the cpu it cooked when it was installed. RMA was rejected due to the sticker and even though I spend a fair amount of money on new egg. They would do nothing for me. I am no longer as loyal to newegg as I once was thanks to this product.
