Cons: When I first powered this up, it was completely unusable, making a very loud, rhythmic chiming noise (like someone repeatedly hitting a bell). Something was knocking against the fan-grill when the fan started spinning. Since I didn't want to wait to return it to Newegg for a replacement, I forewent my warranty and removed the fan grill. This solved the very loud bell-like chiming noise. Recently, the fan has developed an extremely irritating, low volume clicking noise -- just as another reviewer notes above. Since I've blown my warranty, the next thing to try is replacing this terrible fan with a roughly equivalent model, probably something from Scythe -- I've never had any trouble with them.

Quiet and Compact
Reviewed By: Knickgnome on 1/8/2010
Tech Level: low - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Perfect for a cramped HTPC case- quiet and compact. More reasonably priced than comparable alternatives.
Cons: Cables are bundled in a way that make it difficult to fold unused plugs out of the way efficiently.
Other Thoughts: Using this in my home theater PC in a Silverstone Grandia GD04B case. Adds nothing to noise and heat. You can't find a better ATX power supply with similar dimensions for a low power draw system.

Quiet because fan rarely turns on
Reviewed By: ImaPC on 12/28/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Wow this is quiet. My system only draws ~75 Watts so the fan rarely turns on, thus it is perfectly silent. When the fan does turn on, it is audible, but it is very, very rare, so it is acceptable to me. Nice to have a switch on the power supply.
