4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: It's still working at USB 3.0 speeds

Cons: I believe mine was assembled incorrectly, I've had some problem with backups being interrupted and while investigating it I found that the end cap with SATA connector was installed upside down. So it's been sitting upside down during use. I don't know positively that it's a problem to use the drive while it's upside down.

5 out of 5 eggsBuilt in USB 3.0 cable

Pros: size is fine.
cable is built in so no extra accessories nor external power needed.
the case works like a heat sink to keep HDD cooler on a long run.
Great quality

Cons: a bit thicker than other cases,
top moving part is not always perfectly there.

Other Thoughts: if you need a USB 3.0 enclosure with built-in cable
THIS IS IT, unless you need shock resistance or water proof

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT PURCHASE FAKE 3.0 DOA

Pros: DOA

Cons: 1. Occasionally disconnects.
Device failure on true 3.0 W8 ports. Device selfdisconnect in writing and reading on a W8 SSD system.
At first writes at 50-60mb/s, then after 10-15 secs, the device stops. My harddrive is perfectly fine, it's a new drive removed from laptop.
it acts nothing like a normal enclosure, it works only on USB2.0 Ports, 8-20mb/s depending on file sizes.
2. Extremly cheap material.
The screws can only be used once or twice, now I can't even take out my drive without breaking the enclosure.

2 out of 5 eggsINEO, half working

Pros: Nice size, feel and easily available usb cable

Cons: Bought two unit. One stop functionning after a week and defective screw inserts, so became useless when I tried to replace the harddrive. The other one works fine, so far.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal JUNK

Pros: none

Cons: Dead on arrival, bought 5 only 1 worked! I bought new Drives with the enclosures. Drives are fine. Enclosures are bad.

Other Thoughts: Makes me very sad. Shakes my trust in newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsNifty little gadget

Pros: -looks sleek
-quality of manufacture is about right in its price range
-built-in cable is handy
-USB 3.0
-holds my SSD securely

Cons: -tiny screws hold the end on. And I mean tiny. Really really tiny. So tiny I can hardly see them. Make sure you have a tiny Phillips screwdriver and a magnifying glass handy.

-I can't believe I've gotten to the point where I have spare SSD's laying around doing nothing.

-newegg shows the regular price as $29.99. I would NOT pay that much for this. I paid 14.99, which is fair and reasonable for this.

Other Thoughts: I've only had it a couple days, but so far USB 3.0 works flawlessly, contrary to what many others have stated. If it didn't work as advertised, I would first suspect the system in question before blaming this item for disconnections and/or slow speeds.

Also...It DOES work with SSD's, so I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. Somebody forgot to take a quick glimpse at the installation instructions, I think.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: I've purchased 7 of these when they were on sale for ~$13 which is a sick deal. It looks like they are $36 now which is way too high.
One is used in my car with a 120gb SSD formatted to fat32 and holds around 60gb of music, works great.
The others are used with 500gb win PE bootable drives at work for imaging and various other items. I've had several external enclosures for this and these are my favorite. The cable is built in, won't snag and you won't lose it. It's one less thing to go searching around in the bottom of a bag for.
All my co-workers like them and all have performed perfectly at usb 3.0 speeds just like every other usb 3.0 enclosure I have.

Cons: The price? I got them cheap, but at $36 that's just crazy. The enclosure has tiny screws and it would be nice to see a tool less design, but it's not worth taking an egg away.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellant

Pros: Excellant enclosure that was well thought out. Love the cable that tucks away when you are finished using it. Do not have to worry about having to lose or deal with detachable cable. Very sturdy case. I have seen that some have had trouble using USB 3.0 and I can't comment on that as I have only used it using USB 2.0 but have had no difficulty and transfer speeds have been quite adequate.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this when it was on sale for around $11 and worth every penny. I'm not sure I would buy it at $29.99 plus shipping costs though

4 out of 5 eggsSatisfactory

Pros: It does the job.

Cons: Four VERY tiny screws hold this thing together... and no screws to hold the hard drive inside of the case. Inside screws for holding drive isn't necessarily needed with the design... but those tiny screws concern me. I was examining the product upon reciept and one of the screws was loose or popped out or something.

Other Thoughts: I would still purchase again... Likely some superglue in the screw holes would do the trick... but should be designed better than that.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Built in cable. Interesting design

Cons: Buyer beware. Will not operate at USB 3.0 speeds on two different PC's and two different operating systems. Inquiries to INEO Tech Support go unanswered. If you are looking for a USB 3.0 enclosure, I would advise looking elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Works fine at USB 2.0 speeds
