big and loud
- Pros: Massively powerful, great build quality, perfectly reliable.
- Cons: It's the loudest power supply I've every owned. And it's not merely a loud whirring noise... it's overlaid with a throbbing note, which makes it even more irritating. The solution, of course is to have a couple of video cards in your case that are even louder, like, say, 2900XTs (which I bought at the same time as this).
Con #2: It's absolutely enormous. It took way too long for me to figure out how to get it into my Thermaltake Armor tower.

Manufacturer Response:Hi, this product is built to very high specifications and keeping the unit cool is the only way to insure that heavy loads do not degrade performance. As you state, the fans are not silent. Most popular high wattage PSU's are built on a server core, and this requires a larger case. We realize this can create challenges when installing. This product is built around a no compromise concept, with performance being the number one priority. Thank you
Best Customer Service
- Pros: PC Power & Cooling has without a doubt the best customer service of anybody any where. You may or may not be able to save a buck or two with someone else but if you do and when your in need you'll wish you had bought a PC Power & Cooling unit. I am glad I spent my money wisely. Not once, not twice, but three times I needed help and each time they came through. First time I had a stick of memory go bad but the computer repair store told me it was my PS unit so I sent it in to PC Power & Cooling, they tested it and it was good the express shipped it back to me. Another time my motherboard went bad and that store told me it was my PS unit so again sent it in to be tested but it was good. The third time my graphics card manufacturer did not include an adapter but PC Power & Cooling express shipped me one even though it was not their fault. I am only writing this now, two years after my original purchase because I feel indebted to them for coming through for me, three times...
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: The only thing I would say that can be improved is instead of having a massive amount of wires and connectors running out of the unit, they should just have plugs and separate wires where you only plug in the wires you need. It is a rather bulky set of wires that need to be bundled and tied out of the way.
STEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: The most rock solid the best power supply for your pc!!
I don't understand what others fussing about the noise of the fan the power supply is super quiet. Please use full tower case with good airflow instead of mid tower case. Never going back to any other inferior power supply.
- Cons: Nada!!!!!!!
- Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best!!!!!!!!!!
