The SLI-certified Turbo-Cool 1200 power supply brings 1200 watts of continuous power to your system, and plenty of connection options for all your dream components. The single +12V rail and the 100A current are closely regulated by heavy-duty capacitors and inductors, which also provide sag and surge protection. An external voltage adjuster lets you fine tune as needed.
The EPS12V/ATX12V motherboard connectors are ideal for your Xeon, Opteron, Pentium 4, and many later Athlon-equipped mobos. There are 6 PCI-E slots, so you can enjoy the premium SLI performance of multiple graphics cards producing a single, glorious output! The impressive array of connectors also includes 6 SATA and many more. With plentiful heat sinks and a powerful cooling fan on board, you'll have nothing to fear from heat. The ultra-efficient T12W lets you build the system you desire today, and plenty of room to expand in the future.
Pros: This PSU can handle any setup imaginable, and its Rock Solid under all load conditions, 90 Amp 12 volt with 100 amp peak, 1300 peak watts and 1200 continuous, 7 year limited warranty, dual 8 pin + 3x 6/8 pin and 3x6 pin connectors, 120,000 MTBF, 83% efficiency, .98 active pfc. The highest quality build components with more power than any system you can put in your cart... What more can you ask for?
Cons: Very heavy unit. This unit is also long, so measure before you buy. The Fan is not loud, but no one will mistake them for a silent 120 mm fan. Very expensive for a power supply unit.
Other Thoughts: This IS future proof. Also don't waste your hard earned money on this unit unless you are powering a very power hungry system. This system easily handles the following setup. E6850, Dfi P35, 2x1 gig Ballistix 667 @ 1200 (2.2v), evga 8800 Ultra Sli watercooled, Apogee GTX, 4x500 gig 7200.10 RAID-0, SB X-fi, 4 x Optical, So many fans in Antec p180, Silverstone FM121s.
This is a great power supply from a trusted company. They deliver once again with this hit. You get what you pay for!

The Medusa

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I chose this to match my needs for the next few years, using several hdds, at least 2 gpus, large case requirements, many fans now and experiments with liquid cooling later, and the fact that it is single rail, more than powerful enough to supply every little need inside the case, SLIsupport important to me, and apparently more than adequate warrenty. Recommendations for the brand, and for the single rail design made my choice for me.
Cons: It is not as quiet as my early morning meditation, but it is not a problem when the performance of my rig, which depends upon it, is flawlessly powered so far; speaker volume set low to medium overcomes the hum satisfactorily. it is large. it takes up a lot of room inside the case. it is mandatory that you measure and compare it with your available case. it may be too big. i have a cosmos 1000. the power cables that emerge from the back of this thing are practically countless. Everything can be run by this thing. But the cornucopia of cables filled up the bottom of the case where the psu resides so that i had to bind and tuck quite a while to make airflow adequate. cooling at this site inside the case is not as i would like it to be. I mean that the air intakes are not completely free of cable clutter no matter how meticulous my housekeeping. it is the one component in my new and first build that surprised me. I was more prepared for the buggy 790i mobo than I was for this medusa.
Other Thoughts: It has one fan, an exhaust fan, which blows out the back of the casing. the air intake slots are carved into the sides and back of the casing. it comes with no brochure, no warrenty information.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you did not receive a manual. We have a manual available to ship to you free of charge. We also have a link to the pdf manual on the product page at the link below. Thanks
Pros: Power for all of your needs; overclocking, SLI/Crossfire, multiple hard drives, you name it. Single rail takes the guess work out of computing power requirements for multiple power-hungry components.
Cons: Price may be a con, but based on the quality you are buying, I don't think it's an issue.
Other Thoughts: I run a Q9650 overclocked to 4.05ghz stable on air, with multiple hard drives and (3) GTX OC 260's running in SLI. I tried other PSU's (Enermax, Cooler Master, BFG Tech), and none help up to the wattage consistency of this unit. If you are building a super system, this is the PSU!

To the idiotic "hype" reviewer

Pros: I have owned the ESA version of this psu for over a year now. It is powering a system consisting of a Classified, i7 950, 3xGTX280hc's, 2 wc loops, 3 WD Vraps, 1TB Black, and 8 fans. I run the system thru a large commercial UPS with over 2Kw which monitors current draw. I use everybit of this psu's output benching in HWbot and IMO there is no finer psu available for enthusiasts and high level benchers. I suggest you reserve your uninformed opinion for something you might know a little more about.
Cons: Your review...
Other Thoughts: If your serious, and want to be on the bleeding edge, this is your psu.

Pros: Clean, efficient power with lots and lots of options. Powers everything I need it to and could do more. 7 year warranty. Never had any hiccups or issues with power with this PSU
Cons: It is expensive and can be loud if under load.
Other Thoughts: To some who have complained about loudness and one who stated his PSU killed his video cards .... this is a loud PSU even not at load. It is not easy to put a 1200w/1400W max PSU at load. It is not that it is unbearable, but it is not a silent PSU. NOTE: This is a turbocool and not a silencer or some other PSU. I find the noise to be ok. As for killing video cards. Either something was terribly wrong with the PSU for some weird reason or the user did not know what he was doing. I have 3 x gtx 280s with no issues whatsoever running 24/7 with an overclocked i7, 12 gigs of ram, 7 HDDs, 10 120mm fans and the EVGA classified mobo. No hiccups and no issues. The power output on this is top notch and stands up as one of the best on the market.
